I used a very early version of this software when I was about 12 years old.

Bryce is frustrating most of the time. With Bryce sky, terrain and sea can me made easliy but other than that it's a quite weak software compared to other 3D softwares in the market.

I wouldn't recommend it anyone to use Bryce.

If you can afford use Maya or 3ds Max. If you don't have any money to spend on 3D software use Blender.

Blender is free and as powerful as Autodesk's softwares.

I have Bryce 7.0 PLE that i downloaded for free, It appears to have alot you can do (compared to other free software that have half the features disabled). But what is the difference between the free version and the $29 or the professional version? I'm pretty new to this, but I'm just wondering how much more i could do if I chose to purchase the other versions.

you can import madels from max to bryce but im not sure about the oposite way (bryce to max). You may be able to do it with some export plugins

DAZ latest version is 6.1, but you haft to pay for that. If you want Bryce for free get version 5.5. You can get 5.5 on CNET. Just search for it, and you should find it.

Bryce is a program made by DAZ 3D, and is used to make 3D landscaping easier to do.

Ok, I have one question. At the beginning of the tutorial, you clicked on the main platform, and change the material to lowlands. I dont have that menu option. I have Create > Edit > Sky & Fog. I cannot choose lowland, or trunks, etc. Any help is welcome.

its more of a manipulation program than actually creating you're own 3d stuff. IT pre made textures. TRue 3d is creating you're own textures and polygons e.t.c.

I am eminently pissed at Bryce. It has by far the fastest mose user-friendly interface, but A. you can't get anything to rotate properly, and B. you try to ungroup objects when you've got your camera targeted at them, and you might just lose your camera track. THe program is infuriating and yet they still peddle it in broken form. Maybe its better on the PC. On the mac, the little vector handles on the camera's track path flat out just dont work.

i made some little movies with sounds and stuff, i love bryce coz it's rly simple (it all starts with basic shapes) but as u put effects, textures, some little animation and so on u can rly get something nice!
