This song is all about control and emotion. It is completely pointless to even attempt if you don't put emotion in it. This sounds pretty good, good dynamic contrast.
I agree with Adia12868... it is a difficukt piece... i remember singing with my high school choir my last year for 3 events... The 1st 2 events were ok, but we still had trouble with the vowels and dynamics... But the last event was great... The last event was my teacher's memorial service... Idk if it was beacuse of it, but it sound great.... It was the best we ever did it.... But not tryna get all emotional... LOLz... But whatever choir this is, good job....
This song is one of the most difficult to sing in my opinion because at first, it seems simple. What makes this song great is the artistry. It is so easy to ruin it with a too bright sound or too loud dynamics. This gourp comes closest in my opinion. A little to loud at some points and too much ComFORt but that's just annoying little things. Excellent job.
I agree, this song is kind of difficult at first, but it gets easier. I'm a freshman in an all girls choir at my school, and personally I think it sounds better with just girls. But both versions are good.
without passion, this song... no matter who sings it ,can ruin it! It may be an easy song in the words themselves, but it take, percise, timing to actually make it sound right.!
I love this song. I remember singing this my tenth grade year in chorus. I'm a soprano and no it's really not that difficult to sing. You just have to make sure you pronounce your vowels carefully. If not it can sound nasal. Thanks for posting this.
This song is VERY difficult, if you want to create a work of art. This song was not meant for amateurs. This song requires those who want to put them very selves into the music. Without the heart in this piece, it is nothing. Your soul has to bring the poetry to life through the music and technique. It is one of the most moving pieces. Personally, I think this should only be sung at a college level at least, but is often used in high schools. But I'm glad I got to sing it in high school.
the notes arent hard but putting in the musicality into it is and using the correct diction and breath support! they sound too shaky! anyone can do this song, you just have to be willing to put in the work!
say a high school choir that gets top scores at district/state competition??? idk I keep hearing about how difficult this song is...but based on what I see & hear it doesnt seem that difficult
Very Beautiful!

My advanced elite choir of high schoolers sounds five times better than this. We have nearly perfected it already.

@radzilla2009 I think it has plenty of passion. They didn't ruin it. And the timing is perfect.

Depends on the choir. It took our choir a while to get the emotion and dynamics just right. It isn't enough just to do the notes and intonation.
