Visualization of Mira Moving Through Space (2007.08.17)

i saw what looked like a shooting star, but it was going fast like in every video ive seen.... and it wasnt a falling star compared to the falling star videos ive seen here on the internet.. so im guessing a UFO? it was heading south. I live in North western New Jersey. The big dipper was in the North west part of the sky that night.

Date was May, 30, 2010

Anyone else see it or have an idea what it could have been?

@Italiangangst3r Did you see a blue like color in the sky for only a few seconds and then it disappeared?

@Italiangangst3r - It was almost certainly a fireball meteor -- the astronomical term for it is "bolide." Each one enters Earth's atmosphere at different angles and velocities, and meteors have various compositions that cause the fireball to glow at different colors as rapidly increasing air pressure heats up the meteor... so every bolide is visually different -- you can't easily compare what you saw to fireballs in YouTube videos.
