it looks like the civic ran a 16something, if thats the case that GTI was STOCK, 16sec is SLOW! i cant believe all that money into the civic and it only runs a 16sec, the GTI stock isnt all that fast in this video it looked like low 17s which is about right for a stock GTI, either that or it was modded with a SHITTY driver

Dude I have a "tuned" SI, and I've spent allot time and money building it. I walk all over VW's like it's nothing. VW's got their turbos, but I'm all N/A. That's the point of having an import. stock my vti/si coupe ran a 15.6. Im now running high 14's with I/H/E. Something that makes a difference is your tyres. I knocked 0.2/0.3 seconds off my time upgrading to toyo proxes. Nice civic man....

I can honestly say my Honda's never been beaten by any vw(vr6 or gti), haven't raced an mk5 gti yet but i'm assuming they should be faster than the pieces of shit(1,2,3,4)

Dude I have a "tuned" SI, and I've spent allot time and money building it. I walk all over VW's like it's nothing. VW's got their turbos, but I'm all N/A. That's the point of having an import. It doesn't start out fast you have to build it. Most VW's are slow as hell anyways, and a pain in the ass to work on.

I like it fine how it is. =P I should talk my brother who has a honda into getting dumb Chinese decals. Some of us did go to school and post secondary and now make a good living, son. Now go play in your little honda with 90 ft/lbs of torque and probably obese wife/ gf etc...

Take a look at the idiots who make a mockery of Japanese cars by slapping stupid American made body kits, tail lights, big ass stupid wings, and all that shit, THAT is rice..not a stock body Civic Si. I'll take a Japanese car over American any day, American cars focus more on power than durability and reliability, ya a lot of them can beat imports from the factory, but in the end, we still have gas in our tanks and less maintenance issues.
