  • Holy cow what's Ricki from Trailer Park Boys doing there?

  • goodshit, beautiful setup and very useful info...

  • That is some beautiful light!!!!!

  • Great vid. Thx

  • that is a pain in the dick.

  • It's a lot easier and you will have much less risk of breaking your flash tube if you open the octa up and lay it face down on the ground then push and clip your Alien Bees strobe into the back of the Octa. Then pick then strobe and octa up and mount it on the stand. It's so much easier that way than wrestling with the octa trying to mount it on the strobe already mounted on the stand.

  • @Greggbert Excellent advice! Thanks for that great method.

  • I like Chimera and Photoflex better. No need to install the white from baffle every time you set up. To me that's a pain in the Dick (as you say) All I gotta do is get the speedring and BAM!

  • I like your place of shooting. very cool.

  • hello, are trademarks synchronizers ????

  • ive used the vagabond mini.... love it... im getting ready to buy vagabond unit... which is better to own in your opinion? mini... or standard vagabond II?

  • Great review! Thanks!

  • Great job! Straight forward, good explanation of a killer set up. Hard to beat PCB.

  • what stand are you using? the 13' heavy duty?

  • @TheDigitalG

Yup the 13 inch heavy duty

  • thanks! nice demo

  • I'm glad you mentioned the trick of attaching the Octabox to the AB already on the lightstand by keeping it compressed. That's definitely easier to install instead of putting it on the strobe when it's full expanded (and with the diffusers on).

Sometimes I forget to do that and have it already expanded and diffusers on. In which case I'll put it face down on the ground (clean) and just take the AB off the stand and install the AB on the Octabox and then put the whole thing on the stand.

  • Awsome vid! Is that the Medium or the Large Octabox?

  • @ArubianAviator09

    The large

  • @PromoShots I've got the large, but am wondering how difficult it would be to shoot in a decent wind? I've considered getting a 24" square softbox for my outdoor shoots, but I like the looks of the wide spread of light.

  • Not bad! I have one here in CA that I use with another hardlight or 60in bouncback umbrella for location shooting and LOVE them! Nice to see AB hitting youtube :)

  • love it dude

  • cool setup,. next thing I am getting is a vagabond,. one thing do you add any exposure on to the shadowing on one side of the face or body?,. I had to use 2 strobes at times so there is no shadow

  • wow good shot keep up the good work

    ps: first
