When ever II use guided missles, I prefer to do it on Wake Island with beam scanning (thats how i got my jet service star). I find that if you missle tanks near objectives, other people tend to be shooting at them and you can usually get a disable or a good assist.

A lot of people don't know this, but if you hold the down arrow on your controller and (depending on what your controls are set too) move the left or right analog stick, you can look around in cockpit view, I personally don't find it that usefull but it could come in handy sometime or another.

@ChaseK004 I'll help you out. If you go to the Battlelog site, way up top is a "Stats" button. Click that. Then find the "Vehicles" tab and click that. That'll say all of the unlocks and how close you are to getting them.

Also, I watched a video of a person using the Guided Missile during the Beta and it was awesome....then that same guy said they he does not use them in the retail game because they severly nerfed....but based on this gameplay, the GMs still look awesome. I need to get those unlocked!

A few things.

1) Hit "N" twice to make your minimap larger when you fly.

2) Turning sharply is using a combination of the brake and throttle up. Just like driving a car, you break throughout the entry of the turn, and accelerate at the apex. If you just hold the break all the way through the turn, your target will out maneuver you.

3) Personally, I find the guided missile worthless unless you're working with a recon who has SoFlam.

I do have one question though: How do you track other jets so well? Do you decelerate with the left trigger in order to take tight enough turns? (I usually just leave it at the default speed when chasing somebody, maybe that's my problem.)

@IAwkwardSilence Braking when you want to quickly start turning is pretty important. It'll speed up the turn quite a bit.

my pilot strategy and loadout:

Stealth, flares and rocket pods

I Fly low and fast so I can use the rocket pods to take out or at least, disable the tanks/vehicles and if I get into some combat, use the machine gun

I've unlocked the flares, but it is hard to get the heat-seekers, every time I disable an enemy vehicle, they seem to decide to just kill themselves meaning I don't get 100 points! :(

@foxfire1112 Aim in front of the other jet. Jets move and if you're bullets are going straight it's not

going to hit the jet because it won't be there anymore. So you aim ahead so when the jet moves your

bullets will hit the jets.

@somecallmemax 1. The flares don't replace the weapons. And I don't have guided missiles and rocket pods at the same time. They're from different parts of the game.

2. The extinguisher replaces the flares.

how are you able to fly so well? it's so hard for me to just fly the helicopters but the few times i've tried the jet's I've crashed almost immediately

@brandonthomasson1 I think a big part of it is that I'm using a 360 controller. I just don't like how the mouse and keyboard handle flying, so getting a controller is a huge help I believe. Then after that, just practice I guess. Pay attention to how other pilots kill you and how other pilots get away from you, and then learn from that.
