  • Get the album--that sudden transition from the last song into this song is priceless.

  • Drummer kicks butt. No, it's not Stevie. Great album, many songs of which, including this one and "All I Do" got ZERO airplay.

  • @utuberudeboob actually stevie is the origonator of this song.

  • he can,t see with his eyes but he feels with his soul!

  • he is a real professional!

  • Indeed bought this as a 19 year old and wore out the grooves and carpet!!

  • Si dieu existe et qu'il a une voix, c'est la sienne qu'il a choisi!

  • I kinda like the live version better. It's gotta some insane percussion in it.

  • Hotter than July....turn on the hydrant & cool off to this

  • the best songs from this album you'd think have more views...this song is just brilliant!

  • Use your wildest imagination

You just tell me what it is and I will make it be

  • Played this song (and the album) to death back in the day - but no longer have a vinyl player... :-(

Will get on CD, iTunes - however I get it

  • This is something you play at night when you're about to get on the Express Way and do about 75-80mph!

    You COULDN'T slow down.

    Kept on peddling!

    Pure Magic!

  • Stevie Wonder should've been Governor instead of Arnold. He'd do better.

  • The transition from one song to the next is one of the joys of listening to music from the "album-era" vs. the current era where the emphasis in on "singles". If you only listen to you tube or download--consider recording a whole CD/Album of Stevie Wonder's or others from the R&B heyday---a pleasure.

  • Another classic with vocals shared between Stevie & Syreeta. :)

  • what is it Wonder is doing when he modulates through those chord progressions? Diatonic scales, suspended 9ths, multiple modalities? Somebody with a jazz education please describe SW's compositions, for pop music they're completely revolutionary, a totally new sound - back in the day when Black was Beautiful, Wonder was the court composer -

  • Biggest musical influence period.......

  • Those chord progressions!!!

  • you should reaaaally check the version of this song on the DVD "live at last", its even better... and ur right he's Sir Stevie Wonder!!

  • Damnnnnnnnnnnn no words just dammmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmnnnnnnnnnnn

  • remember buying this album as teenager still class today

  • this is quit revolutionar the main choirds sound like house chords from 90's

  • wheres hotter than july at?

  • Master. Best Victrola record. Classical radio program, symphony. I dare you to beat Stevie.

  • can you say mean harmonica or what?

  • this is one of his best cd i love it.

  • I am just discovering this albuM. I'm familiar with a lot of stevie music but this is my first foray into this album and I'm stunned. I find it, like the albums I am more familiar with of his, completely stunning. I spent so many years in academia that I have forgotten to enjoy music... what a big mistake. I'm catching up to life now it seems... Good God this man has me on fire... superholyfreakfunk

  • @BLUEGRASSJAMMIN HEY BROTHER, WHAT'S YOUR PROBLEM? your site seems to indicate you have a desire for forgiveness and reconciliation and you have obviously a gift for something other than that. Think a little... was it worth it for you? I'm sorry if what I wrote somehow offended your sensibilities... however, TOUGH.

  • @SuddenSparkles music is the life of happyness if u recall the angles in heaven job was 2 sing 2 the lord so listen to the good music 2 confort the soul

  • are the very first words that he heard

    coming from mee

  • I think of you all the time ....

  • To be honest I think Stevie Wonder should be could Sir. Stevie Wonder.

  • to lot of people he is wayyyy more than Sir...hes Stevie Wonder. God bless.

  • @NoginLogin yeah so do i, but he's american - they can't be knighted

  • @NoginLogin -I like da way u think

  • @NoginLogin I agree - but you have to be British to get knighted (become a Sir)

  • @PollyHarrison You're partly correct, you can also be a citizen of Commonwealth country as well. In the Caribbean we have knighted individuals and we're certainly not British.

  • @dbastard1977 That would make sense - I recall some Indian names with a Sir now.

  • Comment removed

  • @NoginLogin He would be if he were a citizen of the UK.

    Him and Elton John...

  • @NoginLogin too bad hes not british ):

  • @NoginLogin

  • "....lets get high on the happy..." Forreal? Beautiful. Poet extrodinaire!

  • I love this... nice House type of feel

  • you need to hear the remix DJ Spinna does of Stevie's music. All those Detroit cats are killing the industry! Deep House...and Stevie sings on the track...look it up on YouTube. I think it was done in '04 or '06...can't remember

  • Dj Spinna did do a Stevie album called The Wonder of Stevie, i suggest yougetit!

It has all covers of Stevie ranging from artists like jose feliciano, diana ross and the supremes, ray barrettoand minnie ripperton!

  • He rocked the Concord Pavilion on July 8th...

  • Yes he did...I stood the whole time...the only one in my section to do so, its very deep..

  • i know what you mean!!! i had one girl tell me to sit down like 4 times, and of course she stopped asking... i've seen him three times, and stood the whole time for all three... he is the GREATEST ARTIST TO EVERT LIVE...

  • Just saw him tonight at The Hollywood Bowl. What an amazing show - and he opened with this outstanding song. It was such an inspirational show. He played for 2 hours strong! His band was great with little Ricky Minor (American Idol) as his band's conductor. If Stevie comes to your town - don't miss it!

So great! Thank you Stevie for such great music and inspiration!

And yes listen to the lyrics!

  • This THE shit. Funky and listen to the lyrics. The hamonica playing is well...this is talent that other is marketing and having no other alternative. Stevie will be here in Oak Cali July 5th and 8th I am good friends with his cousins and I usually get free tix!! It will be Hotter than July in July...

  • You might be in luck, because recently he was in Detroit and opened up with this song!!!!

  • gnsky77 - How was the concert? I have ALWAYS been a Stevie fan, but I've never seen him in concert & I would love to. Good friends with the fam eh? LOL :) Take care

  • I wish he were coming to NYC, I would definitely find the time and money to see him!!!!

  • I went to that concert. My wife flew us from arkansas to see him for my birthday present. It was a complete surprise. I've been a Stevie Fan all of my life. Best present I ever had.
