  • Straight out of the top drawer. Marvellous long song: such warmth.

  • I named the Good Luck Song of the NFL

The Time the song was playing STeelers forced 5 Turnovers during game against Patriots

  • phil and genesis are the best!!

  • "Nothing is more responsible for the good old days than a bad memory." - Franklin P. Adams.

  • my mind fly away in my best time...

  • who play the drums?

  • My favorite Genesis song.

  • because it's a great song

  • Phil Collins we love your music

  • What A beautiful song.

  • Agreed. This commercial track was foreshadowed by "Your Own Special Way" on the Wind and Wuthering album in 1976. This is still a great an genuine classic Genesis track. IMHO the first really commercial track that is just plain bad is "Misunderstandig" on the Duke album - which I otherwise consider the very last great Genesis album. After that it was basically: catching up with the current trend.... Oh well.

  • Listen to the background music. It's kinda like a slowed down Wot Gorilla . This song is from one of the fave Genesis CDs

  • absolute tune with a capital T.

  • This is my wedding song!

  • would've been mine too, if...

  • demasiado bonito el tema. me sube el animo altiro escuchar un tema como este. grande genesis y aguante phill

  • I remember seeing Phil Collins in Vancouver in the early 80's. He brought his teenage son onto the stage for the last song, and with two drum sets on the stage they brought the house down.

  • Prefer Peter Gabriel in vocal

  • Thanks for posting it the memories flood back with this music

  • sensasional!!!! marcou época!

    inesquecivel!

  • This is a beautiful song, sure it's an old copy but we are pretty lucky that it's up here at all.

  • hell yeah one of my best ones bro!!

  • It's impossible,this video it's very old!

  • Post a better copy,please please..

  • This is one of the best copies!!!!!! would you rather have a studio reshape the music with out its full substance or would you rather have the artist play the song the way it's supposed to be played.

  • I only agree with tonyajana is that sound doesnt soounds good...

anyway, it's a great version and vid!

  • this song is very special

  • Epic song

  • the greatest love song..........and Phil Collins at his best....i saw the concert back then and will never forget it

  • Tre accordi di chitarra una tastiera e una bella voce ecco come nasce un capolavoro.

  • sing this to a gril and you got her love 100%

  • this song is very beautiful.

  • Here's another song that will forever remind me of one of the happiest times of my life.... driving back to Buenos Aires from Tierra del Fuego with my sister and her family in 1984. I was never more centered in my religion or love in my life...

  • LE HE OIDO 15 VECES SEGUIDAS, SALUDOS

  • So good, so cool. This song stands proud of other love songs. It evokes summer, green fields and teenage emotion.

I think I want my youth back. Those 80s!.

  • This was released in 1978.

  • To me it speaks 80s; just as the Beatles' music does, as it was then that I discovered it.

  • This song was crucial for Genesis; It was their first hit in America, & to think they almost broke up a year before they recorded it! Punk rock came along & hurt the careers of many prog bands that were huge at that time, but Genesis learned to ignore the trends of music & got better with each album! It's like when hair metal was big & then suddenly grunge took over; Many hair metal bands were out of work, except Bon Jovi; They're still going strong today! They must've learned from Genesis!

  • I remember reading that they had pondered splitting in 1975 after Gabriel left, but I've never heard that they thought about splitting in '77.

  • Beautiful intro from Mr Rhutherford.

Reminds me of blissful afternoon. Snif, tears of joy, memories, past youth ipossibility to amends feelings of past joy and friendly moments inconscious hurting happinness.

  • super

  • thank you for posting this!!

  • good looking guy with beard

  • one of the best...

  • Still fucking brilliant !!!!

  • well hell yes

  • Fucking brilliant !!!!!

  • sooooooooooooooooo agree with you....will always be one of there best...!!!

  • I love Genesis & Phil Collins, he has such a good voice

  • beautiful

  • its jesus OMG!!! lol

  • Phill is a monster of the song. I love the beginning of this song. Phil's voice is wonderful.

  • High School and meeting my future wife as a fourteen year old. Then folks wonder why we love Genesis so much, the music takes us back to a simpler time. The wonderful memories of youth, good music and a beautiful woman it just doesn't get any better than that.

  • My dad told me a while ago I was "created" to that song.

    Still love it, though :D

  • twisted and funny at the same time

  • That is scary.

  • "still love it though" ha ha, I understand ;)

  • I like the way they don't try to sound American .... "parsing" year. A wonderful song from a wonderful band.

  • Specjalna dedykacja dla Agatki3107;)

    Great song!

  • great song. for some reason it reminds me of hippies and the guy with the beard does too. were hippies involved in the making of it or is it just me making false links where there aren't any?

  • Its not hippies, it was the 70s.

  • R.I.P DAD-WILL ALWAYS LOVE YOU XXXX

  • What a beautiful song!

This is a bloody good song!!!!!!!

    Thanks for posting!!!

  • love this

  • One of the more perfect love songs. =)

  • stay with me.... :)

  • Puro lirismo, una canción de siempre y para siempre, grandes...

  • This was the song that planted Genesis in the top 40 for the first time in the U.S., peaking at #23 on the Billboard Hot 100 chart back in 1978. 30 years later, still sounds awesome! Thank you for sharing!

  • Yes,its when the band stared moving from "progressive" category,to a more commercial style of music,"And then there were three" (which this song is taken from)being the first of that style.More hit singles were to follow.

  • ist total übersteuert!!! schlecht gemacht!!!

  • NO Follow BHO... JUST : " SAY-NO-2-BO."

CBS = Cancel BO Show !

    SEARCH : ERIK RUSH

3 Homicides, Trinity Church Chicago, Gay Men

    BO KNOWS ! ! ! - Farrakhan-Many Etc Too?

  • One of my alltime favorites by Genesis.

  • wow. 7

  • is that a Moog?

  • The Moog is to Tony's right - I believe he is playing the keyboard for the ARP 2600 in the solo - which is also the huge panel to his left. Search on utube for more info on the 2600 - a classic synth !!

  • yeah! you're red in my mind, arp2600 rulez.. one of the best sounds of the last 70es years.

anyway ARP was the preferite brand used by banks in his music.

  • This song rocks!!

  • Esta canción es de lo mejor que hay para declararse a una chica, jejejeje

  • Shut up.

    It's a good song.

  • i plan to have this song played while i do a marriage proposal to my future girlfriend. The next day, she might be crying of happiness at her home.

  • @ 3:45 "Oh, so that's why their lips didn't match the words"

  • Phils hairdresser might be havin a laugh, but his bank manager sure isnt, mind you, in current climate, he might be shittin it...

  • what a tragic hair cut on phil.

  • I love this song but didn't care much for the album. It's probably the only genesis album I dislike.

  • nice hairdo!!!!

  • amazing song<3

  • a commercially big hit but does that make it a bad song? I love it...thanks for posting.

  • For more that I want to dislike this song (the first of many commercial romantic ballads they recorded from hereafter) I just can't. This after all, has some kind of good quality for a romantic ballad standars (if there is such a thing) And Duke also has some good ones too. After all Collins is a good songwritter. When he wants to be good.

  • This song was the fulcrum for me with Genesis

A sign of the pop direction they were heading with a smidgeon of their progressive remnants.

Still... a great track decades later too.

The close ups of Mike Rutherford on backups? and Tony Banks Vancouver Canucks sweater always cause big goofy grins... 3.5 out of 5 Lawnmowers
