It feels like a long lost call from a world I have forgotten. Thank you for the beautiful music, for the composition - Caccini or Vavilov, whoever wrote it - and for singing it. The beauty of this peice is all that counts. Many poor versions have been done, but this is a wonderful experience for me.

Actually it was written by Vladimir Vavilov! NOT Caccini.

AMAZING... I rarely have good things to say about opera singers singing caccini's ave maria. i have such a high standard after watching sumi do it. you have a bit more power than sumi and i feel you really elevate it . one thing though, i wish you would have done the high note at the end. even without the high note you still make it,i feel,one notch above sumi's.(amazing since it was such a scratchy recording). GREAT JOB!!

Unfortunately G. Caccini never wrote this Ave Maria ! it has been composed in 1970 by Valdimir Varilov as a pastiche of the work of Caccini, and published anonymoulsly. G. Caccini would have surely wrote the piece with the full text of the Ave Maria's prayer.
But still it is a pretty beautifull piece.

Pity that this Ave Maria is not such popular as Bach-Gounod's one. You fill it with lots of warmth, tenderness and heavenly wisdom. Sumi Jo's version is too grounded, I feel a flight in your's. Angel's flight. Your's Mary is levitating above passions, her Maria held by earth's passions.
