wish these deaf schools across the nation can be small or bigger but always up to date.. am sure would even attract more deaf students from each of their own state mainstream programs so students can benefit more and excel in all programs offered from academics to athletics etc.. it is much needed for example.. like this great coach and the fine athletic program.. nationally, other deaf schools are not taken seriously by their own states and wasting away their potential by being outdated..
Observing since 1987 I know he's one of best deaf school coaches. Many of the best were ignored by mainstream and deaf media. Exposure was limited for many reasons including no Internet. Old-school days deaf coaches dealt with punishing competition than those deaf schools faces nowadays except for Illinois which is incomparable. Even with super athletes and talent MSSD and TSD faced much better competition. Using same formation for years MSD teams simply have better fundamentals and executions.
Andy was my first head coach football at MSSD in 1987 during my junior year. I am proud of him when I looked at him. He must be greatest all time coach football. My record was 7-3 and won Tri- State league Champion and runner-up deaf prep national champion.
Aguabo - that's something we should be celebrating and appreciate our own Deaf people for their achievements. As long as we focus this way, we will wake up feeling great! :)
It's good to watch something like this... At 2:06, they used this different word "Nonhearing"... how interesting. Big Congrats to Andy... You made all of us proud!
Congrats! Keep up with the good work, Andy!
