Those were the good ol days when hockey was hockey. I miss the old hockey days when the Great One was in his prime. Gretzky, Lemieux and Messier were the 3 musketeers who dominated the sport of hockey and made the sport more exciting to watch. They are the reason why I got into hockey in those days watching them play. Now I see today the NHL has been raped and now Gretzky's son wants to be a baseball player hahahahaha nice way to see Gretzky's son follow his dads foot steps.
seeing videos like these about gretzky i get dissapointed that he played when i was like 2 yrs old and never got to see him play on tv (or cant remember)
My friend's dad was at this game, and he managed to snap a picture of Gretzky during a TV timeout while Gretzky was standing alone at centre ice, while he's also shown on the jumbotron. And my buddies dad sold this picture for a pile of money, they're loaded now. But the picture is fucking epic, it's hanging in his basement and makes me jizz my pants every time I see it.
Gretzky's ovation upon his return to Calgary was more special. It was louder, longer and it was built on the back of the hearts he continually ripped in half for 8 years as an Oiler. Cheers Wayne and Walter. Great fans in Ottawa.
@Wodey25 clearly not you but i'm sure there's plenty who would want a ticket stub from his last game in canada, an autographed stick, jerseys from edmonton, la, st louis, and new york. and a couple trading cards...
I never got to explain my story to the woman. Since I couldn't watch the game there was no point in sticking around. It was totally sold out, I couldn't just find an empty seat somewhere.
I bought tickets for that game from some guy in the Byward Market. Turns out they had been stolen from someone's house! You should have seen the look on the woman's face when I went to take my seat! She thought I was the burglar!
Yeah dead serious! The cops questioned me and I told them I bought them from some guy downtown. They seemed like they didn't really care. I'm sure their "investigation" didn't go very far, even though I gave them descriptions of the ticket sellers! Basically I got screwed and should never have purchased tickets on the street. They looked so real! And they were....but stolen!
@hockeyqueen I thought that was a sarcastic comment until i watched the vid. But yeah that was good that they sent him off like that! I miss Gretzky and Lemieux
Thumbs up if you were there!

I think it's dumb how the home teams used to wear the white jerseys, and the visitors would wear the colorful ones,
