  • Thumbs up if you were there!

  • What was the score?

  • Those were the good ol days when hockey was hockey. I miss the old hockey days when the Great One was in his prime. Gretzky, Lemieux and Messier were the 3 musketeers who dominated the sport of hockey and made the sport more exciting to watch. They are the reason why I got into hockey in those days watching them play. Now I see today the NHL has been raped and now Gretzky's son wants to be a baseball player hahahahaha nice way to see Gretzky's son follow his dads foot steps.

  • I was at that game and I still have my ticket stub.

  • does any one know the name of the song?

  • classiest fans ever

  • The Great Gretzky, a true gentelman in the ice and an amazing player...

  • I was 9, can remember watching this on TV, barely. Go Sens! Gretzky, the Greatest.

  • seeing videos like these about gretzky i get dissapointed that he played when i was like 2 yrs old and never got to see him play on tv (or cant remember)

  • @shanetika1 same it really makes me sad and i get emotional just watching these old videos of him leaving, kind of sucks

  • @lemons3114 yea same man i wish i was old enough to be able to remember him play it would be an experience to get to watch him

  • @shanetika1 its too bad :( oh well we get to see new great ones :P

  • @lemons3114 haha yea true true

  • My friend's dad was at this game, and he managed to snap a picture of Gretzky during a TV timeout while Gretzky was standing alone at centre ice, while he's also shown on the jumbotron. And my buddies dad sold this picture for a pile of money, they're loaded now. But the picture is fucking epic, it's hanging in his basement and makes me jizz my pants every time I see it.

  • Gretzky's ovation upon his return to Calgary was more special. It was louder, longer and it was built on the back of the hearts he continually ripped in half for 8 years as an Oiler. Cheers Wayne and Walter. Great fans in Ottawa.

  • He signed his name in the change room.

And some fucking idiot wrote over it.

  • awsome video

  • canada will always have the best players .

  • senators, maple leads and canucks fan here

  • I was there too. I had a sign that said, "Thanks Wayne, CANADA loves you".

  • I think it's dumb how the home teams used to wear the white jerseys, and the visitors would wear the colorful ones,

  • i still have my tickets from that game:) imagine the price tag on those one day. ill never be letting go of em though

  • @noobinator156 Who the hell wants a piece of junk ticket stub? Find a game puck and now we're talkin' ($100).

  • @Wodey25 clearly not you but i'm sure there's plenty who would want a ticket stub from his last game in canada, an autographed stick, jerseys from edmonton, la, st louis, and new york. and a couple trading cards...

  • he should have played for just one more year

  • wow that sucks it was in ottawa

  • Total class by the Sens fans.

  • lol first, second, and third star

  • I never got to explain my story to the woman. Since I couldn't watch the game there was no point in sticking around. It was totally sold out, I couldn't just find an empty seat somewhere.

  • I was at that game

  • @jkelly091 my first and only game that i saw of the sens or gretzky

  • @jkelly091 As was I, we are a classy bunch. Unlike our counterparts down the 401.

  • @jkelly091 same here. EPIC

  • I bought tickets for that game from some guy in the Byward Market. Turns out they had been stolen from someone's house! You should have seen the look on the woman's face when I went to take my seat! She thought I was the burglar!

  • r u serious?

  • Yeah dead serious! The cops questioned me and I told them I bought them from some guy downtown. They seemed like they didn't really care. I'm sure their "investigation" didn't go very far, even though I gave them descriptions of the ticket sellers! Basically I got screwed and should never have purchased tickets on the street. They looked so real! And they were....but stolen!

  • @tristianity4u

What happened next? Did you explain to the women that you bought them off the street? Did they let you stick around the arena much longer?

  • I remember watching that game on TV.

  • 1999.... i was the 1999 veiwer

  • Good omen

  • thats kinda sad he was awsome

  • classy move by the sens and their fans

  • @hockeyqueen I thought that was a sarcastic comment until i watched the vid. But yeah that was good that they sent him off like that! I miss Gretzky and Lemieux
