Yeah, right.... how? Deathbeams? Reflected by lightsabers......Death Ball? Force pushed back to frieza like what Goku did to cooler in the first cooler movie......destroy the planet? Jedi can breathe w/o oxygen.....see Force Unleashed and KOTOR II.....and the final option? Going melee? Okey, there are other great siths as well but, cmon; Bane remaked the siths, he stablished the rule of two and he was the Sith'ari, he was one of the most important sith in history and when he was in his prime he was probably the most powerfull being in the galaxy. remember what farfalla said?

dont get me wrong revan, ruin,and vectivus are great siths but (with the exeption of revan maybe) any of them was as important as Bane was.

Bane destroyed the Sith. He remade them into an order of spineless pussies who didn't have the cojones to stand and fight the Jedi toe to toe, an order of backstabbers and manipulators. He produced Sidious, a Sith who betrayed the very principles of the Ancient Sith, what Bane himself accused Kaan of doing.

Darth Ruin would eat him alive.

he did that because he saw that the siths of his time were far weaker than the ancient siths and by reducing their numbers he made them stronger, in fact his plan worked, darth sidious destroyed the jedi order and ruin was powerfull, but we still havent seen how much power Bane gained before his death and im not so sure if he could have been defeated by ruin.

Who were themselves numerous, no? And many of Bane's Order (save Sidious, who was an anomaly) were, no doubt, weaker than the preceding generation It happens that way in fantasy works, and Star Wars is more Space Fantasy than scifi. The mages of the present can only envy those of the past.

And Palpatines empire lasted a meager few decades.

The thing is, neither side can be kept down for long. Yin and Yang, in eternal cycle, first the Light is triumphant, then the Darkness. In hiding the Sith order, Bane kept the Dark Side weak, and allowed the Light to reign unchalled for a millenium. The Force compensated by providing Sidious, a brilliant and powerful Sith, and then knocked him down again to keep the Dark from ruling forever.

Now the pendulum is swinging freely again. From Light to Dark, and back again.

you are been unfair with Bane you should remember that if it wasnt for him all the secrets of the ancient siths would have been lost forever and the siths would have been getting weaker and weaker, besides darth zannah and darth plaeguis wasnt weak at all and you should take in count that if darth vader would have reached his full potential he would have been the most powerfull force user ever and the jedi would have had a hell of a hard time triying to destroy the empire.

Perhaps I am overly harsh, but consider: the secrets of the Sith would no more die than they did when Korriban was razed to the ground. The Sith is a belief that does not die. Sith spirits and ruins would have lingered, waiting for any curious Jedi.

And it is a good thing Vader did not retain his full power. An eternal reighn of the Sith is the worst thing that could happen. The balance between Light and Dark must be maintained. The pendulum must swing freely.

Ah... The good old phrase "You have liked my answer. i have seen it!" Oh how I've missed it. And just in time for the holidays! I'm a huge fan of Sithmas myself. Sitting down by the warm, Jedi-filled fireplace drinking a nice cup of hot sithlat. The screams of the Sithmas tree really brings it all into place, however. "Let me down! I am in a tramindouse amount of pain! These ornaments are not making my mangled body look any better!" And then My own tradition starts up, waking the Sithmas tree
