while i'm still pretty sure i'm going to end up buying liquid emulsion online to use, i do think this was a good video. i especially enjoy the suggestions for how to pass time while waiting for the screen to dry, expose, and dry again. :)
i looked at professional screen printing equipment before doing this and i may purchase some of that eventually, but i like how compact and relatively portable the yudu is. i've done hand painted screens too, but i like being able to design on the computer.
You can cut designs out in Heavy stock paper and adhere them with ticky-tak on the glass. Use dark paper, the ink on the transparency paper is what blocks the light and burns the inverse image onto your stencil
I build and sell Sp equipment. I would never offer a thing to anybody if I had only the marketeers approach to SP that Yudu takes for profits...at YOUR expense. I would be ashamed to provide what they provide and call it 'screen printing equipment'. Take any element of the Yudu(screen, squeegee, platen...etc)and they have dropped the ball at EVERY step! I wish you were at my house right now, I would be very happy to show you how to do it faster; cheaper , with better results and more FUN.
Your store is better than the one near me! Nice video! I was thinking of picking one of these things up, but I don't think it's for me. I'm used to working in an actual print lab and I think I might break this!
Awesome and very through video. Nicely done. Take it from someone who has worked with the yudu- this is the best instructional video seen so far. The yudu really is great it just takes good instruction and practice, practice, practice. But worth it!!
Problems with your emulsion sheet 'BUBBLING' Up? Peels off the mesh screen when you blow out the stencil design??? The reason? The emulsion sheet did not adhere properly. If the emulsion sheet is NOT COMPLETELY DRY when you move on to expose the stencil & blow out your design w/water, this 'bubbling' will occur. I guarantee it, in fact. SOLUTION: LEAVE STENCIL IN DRYER UNIT OVERNIGHT.
WAIT 24 HOURS BEFORE BURNING YOUR DESIGN INTO THE STENCIL. The emulsion sheet will be hard as a rock.
It's really funny how People attempt to make this look like an effortless project! In reallity the all of the steps that everyone is going to have problems with, are omitted. Trueth be told, this is a trial and error device, and if you have the erge to get this yudu, please note that you will need many, many, many emulsion sheets. There will numerous mess ups..
Use a yellow bug light while doing the emulsion.

does your design have to be on the transparency paper to be able to transfer the design on the shirt ?

How dimly lit should the room be? You do need enough light to check the emulsion for bubbles.
