@laytonlover258 Sumer 1998 is right. He was 27 when he got the hat, and 37 in the series. He's just very young-looking.

in the manga(comic) for this game he has grey hair....he still looks young but grey adds to it a bit

@Sumer1998 Comics are usually black-and-white, how can you tell? I don't consider the comics canon anyway, according to them Layton showers with his hat on and that's ridiculous.
