That is why you dont fly Southwest when you are heading for an international destination. you have to reclaim your bags and recheck them with your next airline. true, the bag did make it for that lady, but what would have happened if it didnt? i will tell you now that Southwest would not have forwarded her bag to New Zealand if it didnt arrive in time for her next flight.
@skylur44 ya I don't really blame SWA for that; all they run are 737s and I heard that it's metal fatigue that causes it. As long as they're now aware of the issue and keep up regular checks on it. I still prefer to fly them anywhere.
@brobinson75 yes, but...they need to be MORE on top of it; what if the plane had come apart during flight? In any case, that's just one of many reasons I stopped flying in 1985. and now we have a spate of air traffic controllers falling asleep on their shifts...just keeps getting better and better.
