  • This is exciting! When the CZ #6 I took in August 2009 arrived in Denver, I saw unit 183 on a side track waiting to be used as a spare! We had just finished our detour through Wyoming, and arrived in Denver 3 hours early, so I was able to get a bunch of good views of the unit. We unfortunately left Denver 21 minutes late because the bus that was coming from some of the stations we weren't able to stop at during our detour got stuck in constuction traffic. We arrived in Chicago 43 minutes late.

  • What train was that on the other track?

  • Nice one man 5/5

  • these days you need a twic card to get any access beyond being a passenger. it gives full transportation access. transportation security will change railfanning soon.

  • Just a year ago this week, my wife and I made that wonderful trip, from Denver to Sacramento, aboard the Zephyr. Brings back some great memories.

  • I actually don't think your allowed onto the plateform at Union Station unless your a passenger. They even wait for the train to pull to a stop before they left the passangers out of the station and onto the plateform. Anyways, still liked it, don't missunderstand. All the times I have been there I made my little dashes out onto the plateform quick, seeing security is a bit tight, and signs stating no tresspassing.
