  • Bliss was it in that dawn to be alive, but to be young was very heaven!

Forever now - the intersection of time and eternity.

  • @31531552 Thats called the deliberate destruction of music and art. The filth that run record companies and media have been deliberately subverting music, thats why in Australia when they play the the music shows it's full of talentless blacks singing about shit like ho's,coke, cars, bling, guns and wank like that. It's a deliberate attack on culture by the evil self proclaimed "chosen ones" Time is here where the 99% are gonna eat the 1%

  • I grew up in my teens playing drums to this album and Talk talk talk. Over and over and over....never ever thought I would get to see these guys live and then one day out of the blue, a radio dj freind of mine called and said they were playing that night. one of thee most incredible renditions of a band I have ever heard to this day. Thanks for comming to NZ. BEST band of the 80s bar NONE!!! My drum style is still littered with this style.

  • @ revol 148 Yes m8 it really was a good gig, lots of people turned up and they played a good mix of old and newer stuff. The break in the middle was a new thing for me but it did mean we got another round in at the bar.

  • Is good music really dead, or am I just old and bitter?

  • Saw them tonite in London, still as solid as ever. Love this song......

  • @Kromaglathon I very nearly went to that gig! Was it full? I check on their official website and they always seem to be on tour in the U.S but rarely elsewhere - very annoying.Still hopefully they played this track and "ghost in you" - so money well spent I guess!

  • Let it stay Forever Now! Let It Stay FOR EVER NOW!

  • Haha, I just heard this on the radio yesterday. No joke--it was in the dining hall at my school. I think I was the only student in the room who knew the song, to be honest. :-)

  • It's a shame that really, their only "chart-topping" hit here in the States was the sissified version of "Pretty In Pink" from the movie. They have sooooo many better songs.

  • What an awesome song!!

  • listening to this again makes every single band today sound FUCKING LAME. maybe thats cuz they are?

  • @robobob990 Not every band, but a good majority of the mainstream ones. Unfortunately, today you have to really *look* for the good stuff, because you won't find it on the Top 40 station. Some great bands today (off the top of my head): Dave Matthews Band, The Killers (one of my favorites), Bell X1, Bloc Party, MGMT... Muse is pretty good, too.

  • pure, powerful, pop perfection

  • brilliant

  • I don't remember those backing vocals on the chorus parts. I wonder if this has been remixed.

  • @DoctorDoBuggerAll NO IT'S THE ORIGINAL

  • The lyrics of this song still resonate today. Brilliant tune.

  • A bit of a patchy lp for me, much prefer the 1st two lp's & Book of Days. But this is a stand out song - one of their best. The guitar lines at the end are to die for.

  • I heard this on the radio of all places. I like the bass.

  • GOD I miss 80's music. Current bands are shit! MTV is shit! Psych Furrs Forever now!

  • thanks for posting this ...... great song

  • Great song and great album. I think it was their best. Saw them in concert around 86 or 87. Love the Furs. Thanks for sharing

  • epic.

  • The furs are great!!! Saw them 20 years ago in Chicago, boy what a show. Will never forget it!!! Richard butler has the best voice!!!

  • Yea, this was my fave still is. Saw them perform it the other night and Jesus, Richard still has it! Ended with this-- appreciatingly staring out at the audience and singing "Let it stay forever now" a poignant end to a great show.

  • My teenage Anthem. . . it didn't stay Forever Now, now did it. . . . . .

  • The other day a closeted bisexual man and I were drinking. After we drank a while I got crying about another man that I fell in love with. All of a sudden he holds me tightly in his arms and tells me repeatedly that he loves me. It was a flat out embrace. I cried in his arms and thought "Let it stay forever now". It's been 20 years since he had any gay sex and this hug was not just sexual but rather romantic and nourishing. An embrace that is rare to find. I wanted to to stay "forever now".

  • My favorite PF album...one of Todd Rundgren's best productions!

  • this drumming is sharp & heavy ! vins ery , he is playing ??

  • Glad i grew up in the 80s !

  • @hou442 Me, too! This was part of my college soundtrack!

  • president gas is tap dancing

for the banker he's a thief

    he isn't very honest

    but he's obvious at least.....

  • When I first heard this song it reminded me of my parents divorce in all it's messyness. Also my fathers suicide. He used to hold me up so high in his life, he also used to lift me up to touch the sky. When he died it felt like I was forever falling. At the end of this song when Richard sings "Forever now.. Forever now". Reminds me of the falling feeling I get being dropped from grace. Forever wishing my father was still holding me up so high. Wishing it was forever now and yet Im falling.

  • This song was presented to me at a college radio station in a small southern town in the winter of '83 by a guy named Stephen King (no relation to the one in Maine). I had never heard anything like it. It was on vinyl and I drowned in that beautifully rich, textured sound. Thanks for sharing this, FallingDown.

  • Has anyone got sleep comes down from this album? (a beautiful song). Only a very poor 'live' version on youtube at the mo......

  • One of the best Albums and a great song! The lyrics are phenomenal.

  • Someone should make a video for this song with clips from Jeremy Irons in Die Hard 3. When he sings "we don't count our money, we're giving it away" you should show the part where they steal all the money from the vault.

  • Whenever I imagine what the singer of this band looks like I picture Jeremy Irons. I can see now I was wrong.

  • I was 17 when I first heard this album, my world was changed forever, their music was so ahead of it's time.

  • I agreed. Too many bad reviews for a fabulous group. It didn't fit in with the stereotypical cliche' of what Americans thought was "deep" sounding. So all too many critics called it shallow. But I personally believe a lot of these same critics felt extremely threatened by this sort of music. It was an intelectual blend of both being "happy" and "sad" all at the same time. The lyrics interestingly delicious and both deep and wonderstruck. A fantastic band.

  • THE PSYCHADELIC FURS a great band of 80s.

The voice of Richard Buttler was very charismatic.

"Forever Now" one of my favourites.

  • hell yeah the whole album

    thank you man

post she is mine off of talk talk talk

    thanks

  • bout time!

    lol

    thanks for posting

  • My Grandfather was hired to erect a statue in a local cemetery, he chose an angel, but I can't figure out if the angel is rising up or falling from the heavens. At the end of this song when Richard Butler sings "Let it stay forever now" it makes me think of him falling from something he loves. I also think of the angel statue and the perspective of it falling. I often have reflected on something very special I had once lost, I've been falling ever since...

  • man, or woman...ive been looking for this song for a long time, thankyou!
