Mondale lost so horribly to Reagan that its Laughable, Mondale received 1 state, and barley received it by 0.10%, his home state. Even democrats like me laugh at it. He had such horrible idea's to run the country it would have been the liberal version of George W Bush who was also a worthless excuse for a president.

atheo1, Let me give you a refresher course in high school government. Refer to Article 2, Section 1 of the United States Constitution, which essentially institutes the Electoral College. George W. Bush received 271 electoral votes, Al Gore received 266, and therefore George W. Bush was ELECTED president of the United States in 2000, since our president is not ELECTED by popular vote.

As I recall, you require a majority of the popular vote to be elected president! The only reason Bush won is that the recount was stopped by the Republicans which forced the decision to go to the supreme court.

Reagan's legacy: the financial meltdown; huge numbers of uninsured Americans; the stupidization of the country via FOX News and the toxic Right Wing radio (Reagan did away with the Fairness Doctrine, requiring equal time to issues); Osama bin Ladan (the Taliban were our friends against the Russians); etc. His ideology, realized fully in GW Bush, is  the worst disaster to come upon America. So, I was like four when this ran, and I would've voted for him, of course. But what was he thinking with Crosby Stills & Nash? Especially with the culture wars still so fresh?
