  • This is very good! Although I am a little confused about the height thing...but what can you do? haha. I'm auditioning for a community production of this and I would love to be Liesl or Louisa.. any advice for me, as something that may stand out compared to other people? Obviously Projection, Singing loud enough for people to hear you etc. But other things that, after being in this show, you (or others) may know better than me?

  • im playing maria in this :D

  • why does fredrich look like he's about 7?

  • "I am captain yon crap! Where do these idiots come from?"

  • i am doing a brodway version of this and im playing martha or i think thats how u spell it but it means alot to me any advice

  • I don't know why but I like when the butler says, "You will wait here."

  • We're having auditions at my school for this musical in November...any advice on how I should audition for the part of Liesl?

  • @dogsarecool01 I assume you are a good singer. After that, come up with "16 going on 17" blocking. Think of how Liesl feels about each line in that song. Light up the stage with your body language and facial expressions. DO NOT be self conscious. IMO a director can more easily imagine how to fix something you are doing then imagine something your not doing. Get a great night sleep before the audition. See yourself getting the part. GOOD LUCK!

  • @MikeLindsey001 Thank you...can't wait for auditions now!!

  • the little gretle girl is sooo cute XD

    and so smart as well!

  • watching this made me more confident for the tryouts at my school for this musical tomorrow, i feel more calm and im gunna try my best for marta X3

    thanks for uploading!

  • @spartalover46 Good Luck!

  • @MikeLindsey001 this wil take more than luck but thanks XD

  • True, True... If you want the part do this very easy thing... "BE MARTA" and "BE LOUD" during the audition. Don't worry about looking stupid. If you're confident then all anyone who matters will think is "wow - who's that girl." And again - Good Luck!

  • @MikeLindsey001 Hey, i have an audition on tuesday for this, i'm auditioning for Louisa, do u have any tips on singing alone? I get extremely nervous but when i sing with other ppl i can sing on my own after it because i want to sing more but i can't seem to start off singing on my own. Is this normal? I'm really nervous for my audition, i really want to get this part. Is there anything you can suggest to help? Thank u!!! xxx

  • @snowyangel97 This comes from a lack of confidence that you're going to hit the correct notes. This is very common. About the only advice I have is try to find someplace to warm up right before you have to audition. Have the songs on an mp3 player and use headphones for your warm up. This should somewhat simulate the experience of having sung with other people just before you have to sing alone. GOOD LUCK TO YOU!

  • lols I love this. I love the voice of the guy who plays Captain Von Trapp, like a sports announcer. For amateur actors they're doing a very good job. And their voices are amazing

  • Comment removed

  • Maria has an excellent voice, as do all of the children. Where was this performed??????

  • i dnt really like captain von trapp in this 1.

He's ment to be a little more cold towards maria at first... and not smiling at all lol. i dunno mabey just me..

  • that could be lip synching

  • lol - no - it's the real deal.

  • how come liesel doesn't seem to be wearing the full uniform like the other children? great play btw.

  • the girl who plays liesl plas also a nun

  • No "I have confidence"?

  • It's not from the original, stage musical. I Have Confidence, Edelweiss at the house, Something Good were all added/created later for the movie. Some productions, like West End in 2006, will combine the two (although I hear it's difficult because of copyright) but this production is 100% the original

  • Oh, I see. I knew that about the other two, but I guess the shows I've seen have added I have confidence. Thanks!

  • Lest you forget, Edelweiss is the last song to which the wonderful Hammerstein II set lyrics. He passed away in 1960

  • I meant Oscar Hammerstein II (I was too quick to edit my comment--my bad).

  • Jaelle3 - sorry I just removed your comment - meant to "reply" and hit "remove" instead. Thanks for you comment anyhow. For anyone interested Jaelle3 said "you were great! exactly like in the movie!"

  • It looks like Maria came into the house through a cupboard...

  • i love to watch The Original of The sound of music movie....where can i watch this original movie

  • I had very small part at end - Military dude that informs Captain that he has been commissioned into the navy again.

    Daughter played Marta.

Wanna see a funny play... check out "Over the River and Through The Woods" - put that one up too.

  • @MikeLindsey001 Thats the part I play! We're doing our production this may :D

Apparently I was born to play a Nazi :D!

  • Is that the ages they always are in the broadway musical? Or did you mix them up according to how old the actors and actresses look?

  • I don't know the ages of the kids in the Broadway musical. This was community theater so as you can imagine they do the best they can at making the kids believable in their parts.

  • well i think they all look about the right ages. apart from the smallest two who could be a bit closer in age. but brilliant all the same!

  • @EmmaOnTheSpot the only ones that were switched in order were kurt and brigetta. It's Liesl, Fredrick, Louisa, Kurt, Brigetta, Marta, and Gretl. :)

  • the Maria is good what's the name of the actress who plays her?

  • Desiree Lulay is her name. She's on myspace if your interested in learning more about her.

  • thanks!

  • @donfrollo2 @donfrollo2 accually shes not a real actress, this is a public play :3

but if you still want her name i belive it is Desiree Lulay :D

no stalking her now you naughty thing u XD jk

  • i love it when the marched down the stairs

  • how old was the actor playing Gretle?

  • not sure

  • maybe i could guess she was five or six.... probably four since she was the shortest and youngest

  • This was very good. Where exactly is this theater, and did you have a relative in this?

  • Thanks. It's in NC. My daughter and I were both in the play.
