  • this song reminds me when I used to dance to this in the night clubs in london, wow!! that was way back in 1997. gulp!

  • Woah! I never knew that she had a video for this song.

  • Shout it out with a megaphone

  • WTF is donna at now

  • wow 1989, i was in the 2nd grade and i still liked this jam back then lol, this is the cut!!!!!!!

  • Music today sucks compared to this kind of stuff.

    I miss it loads

  • この曲聞くと踊りたくなる!

  • この曲は素晴らしいです ^^

  • yep 1989...I remember dancing to this at the bars in Toronto...it would fill the dance floor.

  • Produced by Stock, Aitken & Waterman?

That drum intro was used for Kylie, Astley, Sinitta etc..

  • Yes it's S.A.W.! :)

  • Who cares? That drum intro was SUPER!!! S.A.W. are the best disco/dance/pop producers ever.

  • Let´s dance!

  • what year please u-tubers?

  • i'm pretty sure it was 1989 :)

  • It was a hit in 1989.

  • simply briliant

  • kIn aNyOnE sPeLL ViTaMiN X_T-C with a PrOzAC ChAsEr DoNna and her 'dancerZ, Cameraman & Editor mUsT have biN oN to make this 'cReAShUn'

  • A simply incredible song and video, that takes me back to a times so many crazy things were happening in my life - good and bad. It is amazing how emotive songs are, and Donna brings it back with a mighty BANG! Way to go gal xxx

  • Thanks for this one I'am back at ( TEA DANCE ) in Key West 5***** for Donna !

  • fab but why r so many things out of synch?

  • I think its because whoever made this video recorded the music video and then played the song over the video after recording it?? :S

  • beautiful video!!

  • Isso é tudo de bom caraca q saudade dos meus 15 anos

  • Donna always shining! ;) I truly love this song, since my eleven years old!

  • Probably the best song ever written by SAW, at least Top 5! ACE.

  • greal music and great memories!!

  • I´m going crazy.....this time ....i love this song!!! I remember my high school jajajaja .this is a beatiful deja vu :-)

  • Thanks for this great job - Donna was a Godness!

  • My first cassete,Donna Summer

  • SAW at it again in the 80's baby!

  • desde barranquilla colombia octavito diceque es un discaso

  • I seriously love this woman!

  • Donna was a stunner

  • sUGAR wOMAN!!

  • iT SOUNDED GREAT WHEN IT CAME OUT WHEN WAS THAT 1989? AND IT SOUNDS EVEN BETTER TODAY.

  • One of those wonderful pure innocent and fun 80s tunes...just happy and fun.

  • the Donna's best and last great hit the memories it brings me are so special

  • This was Donna Summer's biggest pop hit in years & was the last important pop hit of her career. The video being out of sync bothers me, oh well. Ms. Summer & SAW turned out to be a great combination. How the hell did they do the background? Was it strobe lights or speeding nighttime traffic? Nice touch with the maps; part of it shows the trail going to Boston (her hometown).

  • Donna never stopped recording after the 70s, but there were a couple of albums she did in the 80s that went unreleased. She had a handful of hits during that time with the stuff that was released though - She Works Hard For The Money (83) was a huge hit in the States and was one of the first videos by a black female to gain heavy rotation on MTV. Finger On The Trigger (82), State Of Independence (82), Unconditional Love (83), Dinner With Gershwin (87) were also hits in the UK and/or the US.

  • Fighting over SAW productions... Didn't think I'd live to see in this day and age.

    LOL.

It was Infectious yet Harmless Production-line pop which still stands up now.

  • get a grip the pair of yas,, who cares who made it.. stock aitken watermen,, giv ya heds a wobble

  • its true, this could be kyle or sonya or rick astley! stylistically insignificant.

  • Great song and if it wasn't for that douchebag running in place in the cowboy hat every 30 seconds, I'd probably like the video too.

  • A great song :-) thanks

  • village70 is talking out of his ars*hole.

He much prefers the crap produced today.

  • Donna's highly anticipated comeback and she came back with a bang. One of the best dance tracks of the 80s. I'm sure anyone who was on the dance floor with me would agree!

  • ME!! I totally agree with you!

  • The previous comment about Stock Aitken Waterman hit the nail on the head. This could easily have been sung by Rick Astley or Kylie Minogue or even Sonia!

I do like some of the songs but when you write the same song slightly differently 500 times you are going to have a few hits. Monkeys and typewriters come to mind.

Fair play though it is a sound that defined pop music in the 80s and made them a shit load of money.

  • I agree.

this sound was in vogue in the 80s and no one can blame Donna Summer for 'developing' her sound.

it's no Bellotte and Moroder, that's for sure

  • There are very different S.A.W. production. Listen to Princess and Kylie, totally different sound. Or Mel & Kim and Austin Howard. Or Dead or alive and Sinitta. Maybe there is something wrong with your ears, or you don't know anything about music, but S.A.W. made the best popsongs ever!!!

  • Calm down Pete Waterman!

If you slow down Kylie Minogue to 1/2 speed it sounds very much like Rick Astley! If you are claiming SAW songs are all individual you are defining music in very narrow terms,

  • Ha, ha, ha. It's good that everyone has different tastes. I think S.A.W. are best ever!!! Even better than bands like Pink Floyd, Dire Straits and Fleedwood Mac. Like the Reynold Girls sang and Mike Stock wrote.

  • There the best producers ever!!! And all of their 200 songs are not gone? They are played very loud on my stereo everyday. And I love the songs even more than in the 80's.

  • amo este tema es tan bello

  • the guy running in the vest is in the LAST DANCE video...were we that stupid then?

  • I remember i had this on an old tape when i was little! I loved it and still do! I think Donna's got a superb voice!

  • Although this video is not in sync, its still one of the best songs from 1989

  • bring back them good memories, life just aint the same without the 80's,sigh!

  • yeah..... how can we make time turn back... : /

  • i agree with whole heart

  • I thought this was a SAW song ! I could tell by the beat ! Does anyone know if Kylie Minogue or Rick Astley passed on this song ?

  • obviously a SAW product.... the beggining sounds like "you came" by kim wilde, but the rest of the song goes to a different way

  • Donna cowrote the song...

  • excelente cancion de Donna!

  • PWL 4ever.... stock atkin pete waterman

    Today sound tomorrow technology

    The hit factory 4 ever

  • Awesome collaboration-SAW amd Donna Summer-made for each other and here is what we've been blessed with!

  • my fav. song by her!

  • Gay bars where it started. That's funny!

  • First heard this song in the spring of 1989 on WPLJ Power 95 (New York City).

  • Wonderfull song , clemente vargas from Dominican Republic

  • What a great song! Donna still rocks! :)

  • 20's ago this song was a hit ! How time flies and she is still around from the wonderful 70's Disco Craze .

  • it looks like she's not really singing.(not to be mean but it's true, look at her lips.)but i luv the song.

  • I think the music isn't right with the vid xD.

  • who doesnt

  • The music for one is not synched with the video, and yes this was the original music video, of course she is not singing, nor does anyone else in music videos.

  • oh well, you haven't yet seen an activia ad in Hungarian - there synchorinising stuff is even 10000 times worse than in this music video ;)

  • OMG it just reminded me, i gave this 45 turn to my grandma for her birthday about 20 years ago! She used to love her and we used to dance together like crazy on this song! Happy memories! My grandma is now 93 bless her! Big kisses x x x

  • donna summer queen of disco!!! one of stock, aitkin, and watermans better songs..

  • Stock, Aitken, Waterman & Donna Summer are the best!

  • Senzační písnička - pohodovka z 80let. Pro mě paráda!!!!!!

  • I know this song but I hadt known that this song sing Donna Summer

  • /watch?v=HeChuub6KJ8

Your time won't be wasted if you are the fan.

  • I lived in San Diego when this came out remember driving my 1985 mustang top down and blaring this.

Got pulled over and warned to turn it down.

But the cop was smiling while yelling at me.

Guess he liked Donna Summer just couldn't let it show lol.

  • Same thing happened to me ...but it was a Rick Springfield song. Sometimes pop music saves us in many ways.

  • i love this song!

  • its out of sync

  • Heck yeah 80s rule forever!

Watch all my 80s music videos i collected on defSpot com

  • the good old songs, brings back soo many memories, the good old days

  • Cool happy tune from back in time.

  • Reminds me of the summer of '89.Driving a '66 Mustang, stopped in Shereveport, LA for the night. Found a gay bar and we all partied! This song had just been released. Had a great time. In Shereveport, no less!

  • I guess you weren't in Shreveport long enough to learn how to spell it.

  • É maravilhoso, lembro de meus anos, 80 nas discotecas, tempos que não voltam mais, parabens ao ideliazador, gostei muito e estou compartilhando.

  • anyone that is old as meself to remember and from ireland this used to be the theme song to the old fashion show "head2toe" !

  • This song was released from the album titled "Another Place and Time" on Atlantic Records. Her previous album titled 'All Systems Go" was the last album recorded under Geffen Records. Donna looks so great in this video. These new young female dance artists need to be taking notes on Donna. She's fabulous....

  • I like this. I allways say that 70´s and 80´s were a gold era for music industry.

  • amazing angel voices!!!

  • anyone know the official year this song was released? I first heard it in 89

  • Spring 1989. It was #7 in April 1989 on the Pop Charts. It also held the record as the longest run on the Billboard Dance charts for over 10 years for something like 20 weeks in the top ten.

  • I LoVe DoNNa SuMMeR For EvEr!

  • Fiyah!!!!!

  • I so love this song! I so love Donna!

  • Kiss 108 FM in Boston played the hell out of this song back in the late 1980s. Long live Sunny Jo White!

  • What a beautiful lady.

  • This song reminds when i was in love with a boy in my school called matty.. I was 14.. Ahh the memories..lol

  • The Eyes of Texas Naomi Simms would do this song back in the day at the Copa and Heaven.

  • I love this song, also Whatever your heart desires. Gorg lady Gorg voice... 11 out of 10..

  • Thought kylie minogue sung this??

  • no it was dani it wasnt this song but a bit like it. remember the video was on a beach

  • I first heard this song while listening to a soundcheck of a radio station in New York City from 1989; when I first heard the song, before I heard Donna's voice, I also thought it was a Rick Astley song (I am a big Rick Astley fan, so I would have not been disappointed). They likely sound the same, because both artists had the Stock, Aitken, Waterman team as their producers.

  • wow!!! awsome song!!!

  • this was one of her best songs! i always feel good when i hear this. brings back some good memories!

  • I'll go a step further and say that it is easily her best pop single. :)

  • com'on better than hot stuff,,or bad girls...or last dance
