i think the most important question is why wern't the film makers given at least SOME sort of punishment for drowning a large amount of helpless animals for thier documentery... for a televition program. wether it was a true fact or not, that is desgusting.

There is nothing quite like rewatching the archives of vlogbrothers, coming across this video, and remembering fondly that this was the first year I won NaNoWriMo.
I lived in the arctic for a few months this year. And there was this hill called suicide point. I heard many stories about how it got its name and one of them was the lemming suicide. I ended up placing a geocache up there and warned geocachers to be careful in the dark season because there is a large sudden cliff in the area.
It's not so much that I wish the Green Brother's taught my school, though that would be awesome. I just wish I had known more about them when I was learning those things cause they make more sense when they explain them.
I'm confused. In his rant about lemmings he first said they kill themselves when populations are to high and then said that they only do it because their stupid. Those points seem quite contraditary so WHICH IS TRUE!
John, you give most teachers too much credit. Now to your credit, the things you say are true about GOOD teachers, but it is not true for BAD or AVERAGE teachers even. Sadly, bad and average vastly outnumber good teachers at the moment and they don't teach context, they just teach tests.
I actually learn better with random facts. I am ADD so a list of random facts and interesting info is something I retain better than a teacher talking to me.
Yes, concepts are better, but I can always expand on what someone has told me on my own.
I found it more productive in 10th grade to write the first draft of a novel than pay attention to our geometry teacher...who was also the football coach...not only did it make me hate math but the sports analogies in relation to math weren't helpful for those of us who weren't 200 pound jocks XD

John you look exactly like my English teacher he has puff and everything!! But like you said the way you teach Nerdfightners isn't educational but very informing!! I discovered my English teacher wasn't at all like you personality/teacher wise when he actually started educating us instead of the non-educational but informing information you give Nerdfighteria... *sigh* (This teacher did Harry Potter with us and always makes references to the name Tom Riddle, I have a theory he's a Nerdfighter!)

Have you ever read Shatter? It's a slightly disturbing book, but basically it's about a messed up guy who kills women by making them kill themselves. Your comment about being forced to commit suicide reminded me of it.
