Yes, if you want to understand the Densetsu no Stafy series plot. It's possible to understand some parts of the plot without learning Japanese, but I really wish that someone would translate the Stafy series.
But only one game is released outside of Japan. If it gets a good fan response, Nintendo divisions outside of Japan might let the rest of the world play the rest of the Starfy series.
