  • I was actually here to see woo jin's butt again

ok the movie is brilliant blabla but man what a body

  • this movie has masterpiece written all over it, but, i really hate it when people keep saying that woo-jin is the villian, i admit, what he did to oh dae su was pretty cold, but oh dae su started it with the rumour, so you have to understand where woo-jin is coming from, he's been angry all these years, brilliant film :)

  • Woo-jin just surpassed Cartman on the "do not piss off" list.

  • It's a good thing I immediately thought that It was just a movie when they told you the secret plot :P. Twisted movie, but a really good one to be honest, but it's something you only want to watch once :).

  • well atleast he framed the pitchers very nicely

  • Comment removed

  • can someone translate this entire video please? thank you

  • You know what? When you fuck your own sister, you can only blame yourself when shit happens (and let's be honest, nothing good will come out of fucking your own sister).

  • textthing is a pretentious asshole who insulted all 61 people who gave their comment thumbs up.

  • @kingofallpie

That's a confused comment. But then you're a confused child.

  • @textthing You don't know me, dickhead.

  • @kingofallpie

You started this. Your parents should have brought you up better.

  • @textthing You don't know me and you certainly don't know how I was brought up, you worthless sack of shit!

  • @kingofallpie

But you do have anger issues. And a hint of Tourette's.

  • @textthing Anger issues? You're the one making groundless claims deliberately to upset me and Tourette's? Two rude words are hardly Tourette's syndrome.

  • @kingofallpie

You seem fond of expletives, is all I'm saying. You're the one who started this with your bullshit.

  • @textthing Nope. It started with you saying something I responded to. :3

  • @kingofallpie Cool comeback.

  • @lolguy42 Isn't it, sockpuppet? :3

  • @kingofallpie

No, you did not respond to me at all, you left a comment about me. If you hadn't stuck your beak in, I wouldn't have had to clip it back for you.

  • @textthing You didn't clip anything, loser. Plus you're thinking of wings, not beaks, genius.

  • @kingofallpie

No, troll, I'm thinking of beaks, namely yours, which you poked in when nobody asked. Stop trolling.

  • @textthing Stop trying to use metaphors and stop spamming the troll-card just because you're getting cranky.

  • @kingofallpie

It's not a metaphor, it's a literal description, so pull your beak out before I cut it back further.

  • @textthing 1. Birds can't type.

    2. You clip the wings, not the beak. Birds need their beak to eat and breathe and whatnot.

    3. Shut the fuck up, Donny, you are out of your element.

  • @kingofallpie

This is actually getting entertaining now. But your beak is getting shorter all the time, beakie.

And what element is that? The rarefied zone of professional trollers? You have nothing to say, so pull your beak out.

  • @textthing *brain melts at failed metaphor* Shut the fuck up Donny.

  • @kingofallpie

You seem to be failing to register the fact that I'm giving a literal description of your beaky beak. And it's getting shorter all the time. So pull your beak out, beakie.

  • @textthing Shut the fuck up, Beakie, you're out of your element.

  • @kingofallpie

Yes, you're clearly in a class all your own at saying "Shut the fuck up" a lot. You're incomparable. Beak yet shorter, perilously close to disappearing.

  • @textthing Shut the fuck up Donny, your beak is out of its element.

  • @kingofallpie

Now you're simply imitating me and mindlessly repeating the same birdcall. The Tourette's is back. You officially have almost no beak left, beakie.

  • @textthing Shut he fuck up Donny. We heard you like Tourette's so we put a beak in your bircall so you can Tourette's while you short.

  • @kingofallpie

I don't know who your dear Donny is, but I'm not him, so stop calling me that.

And it's interesting to see you start to melt down in futile rage and become incoherent.

  • @textthing Shut the fuck up, Donny, you're out of your pseudointellectual element. Don't worry Donny, they're just nihilists.

  • @kingofallpie

Yes, he's talking to his imaginary friend, now that he has no beak left.

  • @textthing Shut the fuck up Donny, you type with your fingers, not your mouth, who are you talking to?

  • @kingofallpie

I'm talking to you, beakie, but meanwhile you're going insane and talking to your long-lost lover Donny.

  • @textthing Shut the fuck up Mickey, you have a wife to beat, potatoes to eat, and alchohol to abuse.

  • @kingofallpie

Now it's Mickey you're talking to. I know you've had a hard life, but you have no beak left, beakie.

  • @textthing Shut the fuck up Lebowski.

    watch?v=9C_HReR_McQ

  • @kingofallpie

Beaky Tourette's is now addressing other imaginary friends. See, folks? This is what a sudden beak-ectomy can do to you.

  • @textthing Shut the fuck up, Flynn, your audience isn't there.

    watch?v=hVnwNBJask8

  • @kingofallpie

Insane Beaky Tourette's is now spamming links. It won't grow back, beaky beakie.

  • @textthing Exactly Donny, so stop mourning your shriveled mutated penis. The crocodile skin-eroded sandstone texture wasn't a good look for you anyway.

  • @kingofallpie

Beaky Tourette's mumbles at his imaginary friend Donny from inside his padded cell, wishing his beaky beak would grow back. It's gone forever, beakie.

  • @textthing Shut the fuck up Tourette's beak, people in padded cells don't get computers and their hands are tied up anyway.

  • @kingofallpie

Beaky Tourette's is also incredibly literal-minded, which is unlikely to be a by-product of the beak-ectomy, because he was like that before.

  • @textthing I love you.

  • @kingofallpie

I love you and everyone else in the world. Can't we all just get along?

  • @textthing My body is ready.

  • @kingofallpie

I wouldn't go that far, but thanks anyway.

  • Just saw this today. Great movie. However I only concidered it great after analysing it a bit afterwards. I was at first disappointed in Oh Dae-Su's character. Who was pretty bad ass, but this when bitch at the end. HE should have just killed the dude right then, and then had a whine fest about doing the unforgivable sin. Why did he have to grovel and beg dude not to tell Mido? He could have got revenge and then kept the secret himself. It's the only real weak point in the movie. It wasn't until

  • @DarthNuke after thinking a bit I realised that the movie wasn't about Oh-Dae Su getting revenge, it was about asking why someone was getting revenge against him. In the end it's a simple, but powerful tale of revenge, one where it is paid in full to the main character. That might be unforunate for some who wanted Oh Dae Su to kill the little bastard, but that wasn't the point of the movie. A great movie, one I think Hitchcock would have appreciated.

  • DID THEY JUST POINT A GREEN LASER IN HIS EYE???

    FUCK WERE THEY THINKING?

  • Most epic wardrobe ever.

  • lol, cool wardrobe, but what happens if it malfunctions and crushes woo-jin? revenge? pft, the wardrobe already did it.

  • @kiss9hug lol

  • I saw this movie not long ago, and when I found out that Mido was Oh Dae-Su's daughter, I felt wigged out!! Did you see his reaction????

  • It's Jackie Chan's Grandpa

  • Why doesn't Oh Dae-Su just kill Woo-jin after he makes the call and then gain his revenge?

  • @BlackHoleSun1921 he did by trying to activate the device that would kill him but it was a fake.

  • @zack19192 No, I mean like, chase after him and rip him to shreds just before he got in the elevator?

  • @BlackHoleSun1921 maybe because he cut his tongue and was losing tons of blood or he wasn't thinking rationally.

  • i can't tell if that bodyguard is using aikido or hapkido

  • One disturbing but hell of a good film. Some fucked up shut goes down!

  • lmao I love how that guy just beats the crap out of him

  • The most powerful scene I've ever seen in any movie...

  • Fucking amazing movie!

  • is like checkmate in chess what happen to daesu, when everything perfectly plan by Woo-jin, one of great ending film ever beat up many hollywood film, this kind of movie is worth to pay to watch in cinema,

  • i srsly love this movie

  • 5 people just found out their girlfriend is their daughter.

  • @missklc cunt

  • Its so freaking creepy but amazing when he hums, and points to the violet box.

  • one fucked up movie, one fucked up ending, but i love this fucking movie

    and fuck AVATAR

  • no violent movie can be this disturbing compared to the plot twist in this movie

  • My reaction to this scene was simply this- "NOOOOOOOOO, noooooooo way. No fucking way!!!".

  • @testing88534 Exact words coming out of my mouth. This movie leaves nail-marks on your back, doesn't it?

  • If spielberg makes a remake (which I heard the project was cancelled), then I'm never going to watch another speilberg movie again.

  • Who thinks the bodyguard looks a bit like joe Peci?

  • i liked this movie alot... but it wasnt the ending that i wanted... there was revenge, which i wanted, but not for the person i wanted it for... but maybe thats why i loved the movie so much was because it wasnt want i wanted

  • @kokaly15

    its not a hero movie

if you wanted revenge in the end for the main character, you're not looking in the right place

  • Comment removed

  • I would learn this language - thats it :)

  • @aperviz

Woo-Jin is evil, but he makes Korean sound so sexy!

  • Anyone know the name of the song when Oh Daesu and the body guard fight? The music is incredible!

  • @mmstoute Search Cul-de-Sac

  • What can I say? this movie is just incredible. The fight scene against the bodyguard, with the music, is so violent and so beautiful, I can't describe what I feel when I look at it. A-MA-ZING

  • @joeystarr I agree 100% this film was incredible. I kept thinking about it for weeks.

  • i want that closet

  • Dear all, I need your help - there was a korean movie I watched several years ago about a guy finding out about his wife's affair. He kills her and planted her lover's pubic hair at the scene, incriminating him successfully. Does anyone know the title of this movie? Thanks!

  • @HOE68YEN

is it the one with where he was a hair stylist?

  • favorite part of the whole movie, besides the fight in the hallway

  • Funny story... a few days ago in Las Vegas I ran into a Russian woman who told me that she learned how to speak Korean by reading books and watching Oldboy because it was the most popular Asian movie of all time in Russia. Apparently she wanted to learn how to speak Korean because she knew that Korean men had a ton of cash........

  • i want his closet! freakin awesome! will probably never watch this movie again. but it will stay with me because it's so freakin crazy and genius and insane....

  • Even after watching this a hundred times, the ending will be very hard to take in

  • This has to be the most powerfull emotional scene in any film Ive ever seen. The music fits it perfectly as well.

  • dude that is a fuuuuuucked up way to get revenge.

  • 2:55 until 4:50 is a segment of cinematic gold.

  • im confused. The main villain knocked up his sister correct? But he blames Oh Dae Su for it?

  • @slick3336 because oh dae su told everyone - and that made his sister's belly swell from the stress so she thought she was pregnant and killed herself because she didn't want to be carrying her brother's child - that's why he's angry.

  • @Thisismytrollingface But i thought she did get pregnant? His sister did have a child with him i thought.

  • @slick3336 no...she did not - if you had seen the film with proper subtitles you would know this (and even if you did it wasn't that hard to find out since Woo Jin tells this all to you at the end...)

  • @slick3336 still confused......i thought that girl oh Dae Su fell in love with was the main villains daughter........if not then who the hell is she?

  • @slick3336 She's Oh Dae Su's daughter. Woojin's revenge plot was to make Oh Dae Su and his daughter commit incest since Oh Dae Su had spread pregnancy rumors so Woojin had him imprisoned for 15 years and wait till Mi-do grows up to an adult so he could start his revenge plan.

  • @secretasian07 ok so i get that. But all i want to know is that if Woojin is his daughter.........then who is the mother? who did Oh Dae Su sleep with?

  • @slick3336 I think you made a typo on the 2nd sentence haha...If you're wondering if Mi-do is Woojin's daughter, she's not. Her real mother (Oh Dae Su's wife) was murdered (probably by Woojin) and Oh Dae Su was framed for it . After the mother's death, Mi-do was adopted by foster parents......Oh Dae Su slept with his daughter, Mi-do since they both got hypnotized in order to have sex. The plan was going perfectly.

  • @secretasian07 ok now i understand. THANK YOU FOR YOUR HELP

  • Daesu unwittingly spread the rumour about it and as an eventual result of the stress Woo-jin's sister wound up killing herself.

  • i love the film and the manga origine

  • @topbadgun would u know where i can get hold of the manga ?

  • i hope to god this never be remade...esp in America

  • bei dialoghi!

  • When I get mad at my friend now days I tell them "Stop it before I make you fuck your daughter." Gets them every time. :)

  • ending was fucked up mannn..... it was just tooooo fucked upppp. father sleeping with his own daughter? dats just fuckedd upppp

  • I LOVE LEE WOO JIN!!!

    I LOVE OLD BOY!!!

  • The movie is good but I didn't like scenario. Korean movie makers surely like violence.

  • @vineetbindal No, Oldboy came first. Bollywood copies everything. Gajini was a copy of Memento.

  • @vineetbindal phahahah seriously???? you really thing koreans would copy a bolywood movie?

  • @vineetbindal mate do your research. oldboy came out before zinda(the indian copied version of oldboy). zinda is a complete fail remake.

  • The use of the photo album to reveal the truth was a stroke of genius - it's what movie-making is all about. Again, the writers respect the audience; you've seen it, so no one has to say it. Imagine if this scene were made by a Hollywood director: the terrible secret would be referred to in dialogue several times, in case the dumb audience hadn't got it the first time. You'd also probably have a slow-motion closeup of the American Daesu crying "Noooooooooo!"

  • @textthing I think its just a difference between good directors and bad directors. Because honestly, I have seen countless horrendous American films, and countless horrendous foreign films. Yet on the flipside, I have seen tons of great American and foreign films as well.

Basically what I am saying: this movie was not good because it was made by a foreign director. Its because it was a good director, who made a good movie, regardless of where the movie originated from.

  • @Lazer77

    I entirely agree.

  • @Lazer77

I was simply referring to the "Hollywood model" of movie making that appears to have developed, where everything must be spelled out to the audience. I have also seen good and bad foreign movies - some absolutely terrible Korean ones too.

  • @textthing will smith

  • @textthing Spike Lee baby...

  • Wow, this movie is like my life.

  • Woo-Jin has the fucking most awesome apartment I've ever seen. That closet really seals the deal for me. :)

  • where can i watch it with american sub titles thanks

  • english subtitles lol?

  • Comment removed

  • Seriously I rented this movie without knowing what I was really getting. And I got the best movie ever. Don't remember if any other movie shocked me that much.

To the guys who watched this clip but did not see the movie. Don't! You just messed it up by watching this clip. This film is the best because of its twist. You shouldn't know anything about it to enjoy it.

  • @ginger275

By that rationale, a movie is only enjoyable once.

  • @Grungadin

No recent film has as much replay value as this one for me.

  • @ginger275

I saw a reference to it in a movie magazine, having heard nothing about it, and knowing nothing about it. I wasn't expecting what happened at all. I've literally never been as taken aback by a film, mainly because the revelation was the key to everything else.

  • where Can I buy same wardrobe as Woo-jin Lee has (0:27)???

  • some sweet judo throws

  • @caspykun, its brilliant.. has far more content than you will ever find in a dozen hollywood "comedy", "romantic" and "action" movies combined.

Explosions every 10 minutes does not a movie make.

  • do they have english subs i dont speak korean but this seems like a good movie

  • Comment removed

  • This is Old Boy. An excellent movie. You should definitely buy it :) Too bad this vid was a spoiler though...

  • it's fantastic. seriously, rent it / buy it, but make sure you see it!!

  • yeah

  • @pitbullzd its one of the best movies in history. And the music is excelent!

  • i didnt know whether to like this movie or hate it..but it is a great twist at the end though..

  • i didnt fully understand this movie till i read the sypnosis...

where i discovered that MIDO is his own daughter,,

  • the guy stuck in the room orthe guy in the suit who tortured a man for years?!?

  • I love how Woo-jin is first shown to the audience: a random pedestrian on the street who helps Dae-su when he collapses.

  • I LOVE 1:40 - 2:30. The sudden realisation of Dae-Su and the audience is nothing short of astounding. I also feel for the scene, that the choice of music was perfect. Then to end it on the saying:

"Laugh and the world laughs with you. Weep...and you weep alone." Almost every second is memorable.

  • Man, I hated woo-jin so much. If I was Dae-Se I would have fed Woo-Jin his own testicles.

  • i love when he whispering the song he has a good voice

  • THis movie is so awesome, the end kinda grosses me out, but still didnt see it coming, not for a second.

  • Hi~I'm Korean~Nice to see you*^^*

  • Do you have any more clips from films you want to ruin for people????

  • Dont be an ass, watch the whole movie instead of clips if u dont like spoilers

  • I have watched the whole movie numerous times - actually saw it in the theater when it first came out - as well as owning it on dvd!! He didn't ruin the film for me but I'm sure he has ruined it for others.

  • OK please whoevers in charge of this video, PLEASE get rid of all the comments removing the talk of...well you know, the plot being ruined. When people watch this movie they cant know anything about it!!

  • Does anyone know where to watch this for free? (No subs required) PM me if you know plz

    Thanks in advance.

  • i got serious chills when mido put on the angel wings and tried flapping them. i didn't really know how to feel about that; it was like pity but not.

outside of this movie, i think the girl who plays mido is very pretty :)

  • cyrusman521//"naega 내가" means "I am"

    "niga 니가" means "You are"

  • didn't like the general feeling of the film, i can totally understand why so many people love it, but i didn't, at all

  • one of my favorite films

  • who do people rate this comment down? it's just an opinion, bruno didn't say anything rude or untrue. just. his. opinion. sheeesh..

  • Personally, I would not want an American remake, but if a genius such as Spielberg were to do it.......I would watch it in a second.

  • kubrick..i couldn't bear a shpeilburg remix in all fairness.
