Mustang would have won, it took forever for that GTP to even get close to 110mph. You can clearly hear that the Mustang wasn't giving it all it had. Not only that but your taking a car that is 2004 up against a 1995 mustang gt with the old 5.0 pushrod motor in it. If you really want to make a it a fair race go up against a 2004 Mustang GT with the 4.6L with the Romeo heads.

@04pontiacGTP The fact that the mustang weighs less, quite a bit less too. The 2004 Mustang GT weighs 3200lbs and makes 260hp @ 300lb-ft of torque. That right there is already enough to put your Grand Prix GTP to shame. Lets factor in your 2004 Pontiac Grand Prix GTP specs: 3600lbs 240hp and 280lb-ft of torque, not to mention its also front wheel drive. Even if your GTP had the same amount of power as the GT it would still lose. Power to weight ratio, not all about hp and tq

Ive had a GTP and I have a Mustang. Im getting another GTP soon again. Why cant anyone just be like good race?

Even though I dont like the body style of those sn95's and not too fond of the 04+ GP's either. Its still a good race though. Any car can be fast. Ive seen a GTP beat a Viper and a 2v Mustang beat a Corvette. So anythings possible.

I don't care what either mods are, the second race was to far apart to prove it was anything but a bad launch. Take the time to go look around youtube, GTs with exhaust take GTPs with CAIs and Pulleys more often than not.

Its a 94-95 with the 5.0, thing is it's either stock or very close maybe different mufflers. I had a 94 gt auto with intake exhaust and a couple other things and had no problem beating gtp's like you. No disrespect at all cuz i love gtps alls i'm sayin is a stock 94-95 mustang isn't that fast ik from experience.

That was an older Mustang, 1994-1997 GT, so id had either the 5.0, but more likely the 4.6, putting down 225HP and 280TQ. The GTP if it was an '04, which I think it is, puts down 260HP and 290TQ, so the GTP had him in all power bands.

@04pontiacGTP I was about to say the same thing lol. That mustang is a 94-98. 94-95's had the 5.0L with 235HP I believe. The 96-98's had a 2v per cylinder 4.6L with 245hp. Cant remember the torque numbers off the top of my head but they are somewhere around 300 for both engines. People that don't know any better over-rate those cars. I'm guessing from what little I could see that it was a 4.6L. With those mods you would have pulled a 5.0 harder than that. My mother had an 05 gtp, nicecar

@TheBopop Actually the 04+ pontiac have the Series III 260hp. your Monte carlo has the Series II 240HP. Only Pontiac Grand Prix got the Series III S/C engine.

supercharger m90 has been more modified every year. so it's very possible that gtp is around 300 hp. nothing to do with a 5.0

At the time of the video my car was pretty much stock except for exhaust and CAI, with the zzp pcm i was knocking like hell. When you compare my run and your runs what are you seeing different??? Mine is a Comp G and has a different transmission with different gear ratio. That would be the only performance difference between yours and mine.

It LOOKS like that is an SN95 mustang, which is like the 94-98 models..they are slow as dog shit. Even mustang enthusiasts will often agree that the unmodded sn95 is a joke. You're looking at 15 second quarters in a stock manual sn95 and a bit higher in an auto. Go up a generation to the 99-04 GT's and you'll find a lot of them with minor bolt ons and upgraded gears running 13.5-13.8. Nice job on the video.

i have a 98 GT grand prix and my friend has a '99 mustang (5spd. v-8) and from a light he took me by 1/2 car length to 60 mph and then i KILLED him by 2 lengths, and i have raced a 05 impala too and it ends up the same. My GT isBONE STOCK... Bottom line mustangs are not as fast as ppl think they are unless they are modded, and the factory gtp runs a 13.6quarter, which was the fastest ever quarter time for a car under 30k base price before '98 so this isnt suprising

I agree mustangs are not all that fast, but no factory GTP runs a 13.6 quarter STOCK. I dunno who told you that. My GTP which is a 04 GTP Comp G which has the 3.8 Series 3 engine has 20 more HP than the Series 2 found in 03 and older. Also the Comp G has a 3.29 gear ratio and bone stock it runs a 15 flat. A non comp G GTP is not going to run a 15 flat and sure the hell ain't going to run a 13.6 stock

The KR was horrible, at WOT car would only get up to about 90MPH and then start missing and loose power, but If i let off the gas to about 1/2 throttle it would pick back up and go. Shifting was ok but the shift points were crazy it would always jump to first gear when it should of stayed in 2nd gear under light throttle. MPG went from 22 to 17. Go with will @ getoverkilleddotca he is the BEST.
