"Real talent" are you fucking kidding me! Have you ever seen them live or listened to their albums. You can disagree with their artistic direction since 1988 but saying Metallica doesn't have talent makes you a 5 star idiot. Right now, their 'new' sound is like someone dropped a set of pots and pans down a flight of stairs mixed with a voice thats trying to sing over it. St Anger is a prime example of that. They need to go back to standard E tuning or a 1/2 step down. They also need to slow the tempo a bit. Listen to the Black album, that tmepo is great for heavy sound. This 'new' thrash is just too fast. Makes the tuning sound waaaaay off. Just a musical opinion.....and the singing is atrocious..

Not a memorable song...I prefer "Death Is Not The End" which could be in their next LP. Metallica tries to change their music sytle and enlarge his fan base. I think this album will rank up there with the Justice album! I say this because of the amazing transitions,and the pure metal riffs,Dark lyrics,and Lars Drum kit it sounds like the black albums kit pure power! They are back to the roots boys!
Metallica has a way of keeping people guessing! You don't know what to expect from them. And thats what makes them so good. Thats why people like them so much. You can hear them start to play something clean and then: "BOOM!" all of a sudden a killer thrash riff comes out of nowhere! They are a very diverse group. I think these guys can play anything.
I find it difficult to decide if this is great or just good based on this video. It's probably less then half the song, and the sound quality is poor, even in this "better" version. I remember the live bootleg stuff of St. Anger (the song) that I heard before the album hit the stores, it sounded like fucking crap compared to the album version.
Just hope this album is good, come ooooon tallica....
Its just what I expected. A cross between ....And Justice for All and the Load/Reload era. But that is by no means a bad thing! Both Load and Re-Load had some great stuff on it. I just wish there where some more "Thrash" riffs on those two albums. But I believe this one is going to have both! I think this is Metallica's next masterpiece.

Right now, their 'new' sound is like someone dropped a set of pots and pans down a flight of stairs mixed with a voice thats trying to sing over it. St Anger is a prime example of that. They need to go back to standard E tuning or a 1/2 step down. They also need to slow the tempo a bit. Listen to the Black album, that tmepo is great for heavy sound. This 'new' thrash is just too fast. Makes the tuning sound waaaaay off. Just a musical opinion.....and the singing is atrocious..

You DO realize this is live, and you DO realize it's filmed with a shitty ass camcorder right? It would sound way better on the CD. But if you don't like the new Metallica, NO ONE cares. Keep it to yourself and let the rest of the fans enjoy it.

Not a memorable song...I prefer "Death Is Not The End" which could be in their next LP. Metallica tries to change their music sytle and enlarge his fan base. Time is not for trash or heavy metal from the 80's or 90's anymore. I bet their next album will be great but won't be a revolution (fans don't want to see their favourite band change too much...). I will see them on August 14th in northern France.

yeah,"Death is not the end" seems to be more memorable, thrashy etc. Its a pity they've spent so much time choosing their best ideas but the result is still far from perfect.

you DO realize they've been jamming and recording riffs before every show since the st.anger tour and have written around 40 songs, took out all of the best ideas and riffs and structured them into the new songs for the past 4-5 years. I think that's a little more time than necessary.

no, it sounds really sucks :-( So, let's wait for the studio version coz i tnink its very hard to talk about this song when you listening to this live version. But I think it sounds like St. Anger with blues Kirk's solos. So, i don't like it at this moment. It doesnt make sense. :-(

i didn't like it very much, but im glad to see that almost everyone seems to love it, Metallica is my favorite band, and ill never lose my faith in them........even if its not the better song i've heard, its pretty good though, and much more "worked" than st.anger

Metallica did NOT start metal. That's ludicrous. Black Sabbath / Led Zeppelin are, as everybody knows, the prime catalysts for heavy metal. Metallica started out by copying Sabbath riffs! You can find a Black Sabbath connection / influence on EVERY single Metallica album. You're the one who doesn't know their "metal history." Led Zeppelin were described as "heavy metal falling from the sky." Hence the birth of metal. Get it RIGHT.

Metallica has a way of keeping people guessing! You don't know what to expect from them. And thats what makes them so good. Thats why people like them so much. You can hear them start to play something clean and then: "BOOM!" all of a sudden a killer thrash riff comes out of nowhere! They are a very diverse group. I think these guys can play anything.

I find it difficult to decide if this is great or just good based on this video. It's probably less then half the song, and the sound quality is poor, even in this "better" version. I remember the live bootleg stuff of St. Anger (the song) that I heard before the album hit the stores, it sounded like fucking crap compared to the album version.
Just hope this album is good, come ooooon tallica....

Its just what I expected. A cross between ....And Justice for All and the Load/Reload era. But that is by no means a bad thing! Both Load and Re-Load had some great stuff on it. I just wish there where some more "Thrash" riffs on those two albums. But I believe this one is going to have both! I think this is Metallica's next masterpiece.
