if anyone here is 29 over we all remeber this movie it had a meaning to all of our hearts that we could still dream and be adventure as a kid it has its heart felt moment taking you there know foreing peoples have destroyed our way of life DEATH TO FOREIGN SCUM.! exept all my white brothers and sisters this movie was for us!!!
@Germanwarrior1 I remember watching this movie when I was a kid and loved it...so magical and an awesome film...I still love it to this very day, and yes I am 29
From Malaysia, but I picked up the vid when I was in London. Loved it since then, and still do. To be frank, THIS (I mean "The Last Starfighter") was the defining moment in sci-fi for me, second place being Star Wars.
And I think Rogue Synapse should have the game based on the movie - those guys painstakingly made it similar to the one IN the movie, not some low-calibre rip-off. Their site should be searchable from Google.
'The Last Starfighter' is one of the greatest adventures of all time. Why aren't more people into it? I've always dreamed of doing a remake of it with better effects. I'd have to keep Craig Safans score though. It's gorgeous. Hopefully this animation brought it at least a little bit more attention.
Let sleeping dogs lie and let movies stand as a testament to their true charm, rather than "needing" better effects. We got "better" effects with three new SW films and "updated" effects on the original three, and look what happened there-- fans want the original effects more than the new ones, and no true SW fan would ever say the three prequels were an improvement on the original trilogy.
Starfighter I think has great CG, especially for the time it was made.
Funny thing is the other day I went out and bought the latest edition of Starfighter for my kids...when I got home I see this on my comp. Fate, my dear boy!

Last Starfighter needs a sequal. Both this short and the real movie. That would be the greatest!!

I thought it was great when I saw it on your page too. One wonders what you will provide to us demanding YouTubers over AICN?

I loved The Last Starfighter when I was a kid. It's truly one of the overlooked classics of the 80's.

It is an awsome yet simple animation Harry. Very nice. The addition of the music really completes it.
