This totally includes the old saying "Where there's a will there's a way", but then it goes way beyond that because it shows the heart and thought and commitment and even the self-effacing humor (and I think that's a very important and underrated ingredient) that tip the scales. I think Diana is a great example of the American Dream, and I think you could captivate people by making a long-form video (or series of shorter videos) about her. Her story matters.
@Aspiring46er Thanks Mike! I think you have a good idea about videos on not just her story but others. I see a lot of people through my work who are taking one of the last steps after a long road of education and hard work to get where they want to go in their American Dream. I often think about capturing their stories on video or writing about them.
She is delightful. I think Americans have to be a bit more willing to become their own boss. Depending on Corporate America hasn't worked out so well. They are too interested in short term profits.
@Maiyanna you've seen this before because you're one of my blog readers and I posted it on there earlier this year.
Corporate America and the political parties and system destroyed the economy. I see a growing trend, since Arizona is so badly hit, by people who have the moxie to work for themselves. They will be the ones who revive a segment of the economy. The rest of them? well...they'll be in a Depression the rest of their lives.

Hey JR...nice to see you back here ! I love my country but I think many of us have lost that drive to better ourselves the way the older generations did. So many have grown up with a feeling of entitlement...without putting in any hard work or time. It's a whole new world out there and and we as a country have to see that we are a piece of the puzzle...not the complete picture.
@giaco44094 What a great comment about entitlement and so many not putting in hard work or time. It is indeed a new world and a new economy and I think there are a lot of people are awake or who will wake up and realize this is a long haul recovery and requires hard work. Those that don't will have a hard go of it if they keep expecting something for nothing.
Good to see you also. I never left YT, I just don't comment much. I'm not into FB, twitter, etc so mostly I'm here or blogging.
they are the american dream now...they kick our asses at our own ideal...i love them for it...i respect their hard work. i should be pretty fluent by may.
@achampag I believe the American Dream and entrepreneurial spirit still lives in a significant majority of people but has been dented in the past few years. I see it beginning to rise up again and growing. Immigrants from all over the world have always been a part of spurring us along. In my job I see immigrants, as well as Americans, from everywhere all trying to make a better life and they're all thrilled to be here, reminding me of my own immigrant story.
A great success story ...and love her energy as she shares it.

@livelifealwaystoo yup!
I've had this blog for three years. I had two before that, the first one in the late nineties and then another one from 2003-2006.
