This is a great video about a great town! Shame on some of the natives for your negative remarks. I moved here from Philadelphia just because I LIKED it, with no job and no place to live, and within two days, I had both, plus a couple of nice neighbors befriended me. I decided to stay a while ... as in 41 years! I'm used to the winters and I now have friends here who are closer than family. I really do love Erie and highly recommend it for visiting or permanent residence.

@TheNorskjente I work with the homeless in Erie and you are one of the very, very few non-natives to make it. Erie is a nice city but mis-managed... the roads are in horrible shape, the city is getting dirtier every year and crime is going up due to an under staffed PD and the biggest problem is that around 46% of the property is not taxed... and guess who has make up that difference?

funny how they forgot to mention the 5 days of sunshine a year and average temp of 40. im not trying to bash the city but seriously "tourism" is the new economy? as erieites move to other areas at record rates..ironic. erie really doesnt have much to offer..no jobs,bad weather,skyrocketing crime,eyesore scenery..presque isle is nice but the constant cloud cover,rain and snow ruin it. i hate to see my hometown suffer..somethings never change..

I lived in Erie and I loved it, but being from the Florida Keys I couldn't take the winter. I can't wait to visit this summer.

It's a damn shame the economy has been steadily declining on the Great Lakes for decades because Erie would be a great place to live. The winters are horrible but the people there are awesome. I do miss it sometimes.

Good old Erie. I sure miss it. It is a great place to work and raise a family. It is a great little town. I hope someday I will be able to move back to Erie and live out my life there. But like my pappy always said; "you gotta go where the jobs are".
