He had come as an emerncy replacement,because Steve Augeri was fighting a very serious throat ailment.And couldn't continue. He never did return. Soto was hired for about a year. Then fired, and Neal Schon found their recent singer Arnel Pineda on Youtube. JOURNEY ON FOREVER !!!!!
Based on this performance, i would be satisfied paying to see this show. OF COURSE he's not Steve Perry or JSS but he shouldn't be either,,, those 2 guys are recognizable names for a reason. Not everybody is going to be a star.
Having said that, i think he is fantastic at giving a reasonable facsimile of the vocals.
Hey guys, Dennis Deyoung and Peter Cetera arent coming back either... lets enjoy eh?
I love Journey but i think that without Steve Perry that they will never have that presence on stage like they did back in the 70's and 80's. I wish steve would come back and do at least one tour just one.

With this guy's vocal ability, why the F don't they just make him the singer and find a new dime a dozen drummer? It's not like they have to replace Neil Peart!! This new guy they have on vocals isn't even worth commenting on.
no that's deen castronova, the drummer, steve is gone since 1997 man, and a darn shame at that!! but i must say, the heart and soul of journey is still very much alive with this lineup

I give dude props though, he emulated Perry's sound pretty good on top of that his playing drums...

I agree. Promote the drummer/singer to frontman, and get another drummer. he's got an awesome voice. Brilliant video. THANKS for posting.
