@EngineManic Some are hot tube, some are mag. fired. Some even convert them to sparkplug and run with a buzz coil and a battery. They can be very touchy to run off a hot tube and they use a lot more fuel.
how many h.p. is this bessemer. my uncle has 20h.p. besse and it looks just like this 1. except his is missing the magneto. he just runs it off a glow plug
If this engine was on a standard rig used for oil production purposes, that speed would be very quick for pumping, but too slow to pull the well. If you were pulling tubing or casing, the engine would be running many, many, many times faster than this speed, but it would be anchored down by either a concrete foundation or big strong wooden sills either bolted or wedged together.
What is the flywheel diameter?

@celesteraez I think these are about 60".

@pileofiron wow they must be pretty good at keeping momentum

@celesteraez You are correct!!! They can store a lot of energy...

@pileofiron how loud were they in person and was the second auto start?

@celesteraez They can be very loud!! The second one was started by compressed air.

Nope xD
All engines have a regulator so that the engine doesn't overspeed.

sheesh, the injection spray is quite audible.

Nice engine, too bad about the flywheel runout

yea, its a nice engine. I don't know who it belongs to. I think he has it running a little hard too..

Sounds to me like it's right around 180 RPM.
