you have no arrows on your vector diagrams giving your diagram no meaning at all since we don't know which direction -b or b is.

polar notation is using magnitude and angle

'rectangular' (or cartesian) is using the x and y axis.

not the other way around.

I'm going to echo what they said... You completely mixed the two up. Rectangular coordinates are things such as x = 5 and y = 0 (as your first vector example). 15 year olds know this, man.

Amazing! The completely incorrect terminology was used for polar and rectangular coordinates. People shouldn't be allowed to promulgate such huge errors. Unbelievable.

Well I notice that the phrases polar and rectangular notation is not used right in the first part of the movie.
