  • This video will be deleted very shortly at the request of its original editor. It's all good, he just wanted it taken down now.

Thanks to everyone who watched, commented, and made it one of the most popular SCA vids on YouTube.

  • I drive past there all the time with my kids and they ask about the 'castle' because you can see it from 79. .. is it closed off or private property? I know its not a playground, but they always ask to stop and check it out.

  • Coopers Lake Campground is private property, but the general public may camp there any time they are open for business. It is also a storage place for trailers and campers. For the weeks in the summer that the Pennsic War is going on, it is only open to participants in the event. To find out more, just search for "Coopers Lake Campground" on your favorite search engine.

  • nice song choice

  • the down with the sickness version was perfect. has to be intense music

  • needs different music

  • i like this musik much better to this vid the then u hade down with the sickness just so u know ;) it got a much nicer filing with this^^, nice vid man keep the work up man :D

  • This is an awesome video, but the music just doesn't fit at all. If Down With the Sickness isn't an option, can it be changed to something period instead?

  • Oh man, not using Down With the Sickness kills this video. Use Down With The Sickness, but add an explosion or some other sound effect to the end or begining so its tougher for the Auto Filters to find.

  • Personally, as much as I appreciate the way in which noise rock fits some people's attitudes about combat sports, a song about assaulting one's abusive mother doesn't quite say "SCA" to me.

  • Sometimes rolls of toliet paper say SCA to me...

  • Not sure I get that one...

  • Current song = no

  • anyway 5* :D:D:D

  • music=funny

    battles=quite realistic, peasant footmen and/or mercenaries can't fence x)

  • actaully they are not Re-enactors at all, they are more like "re-creator" as there are no actual text book historical event that they are "re-enacting"

  • u talk as if u are a member of the society kind gental

  • I was a member along time ago... I miss the S.C.A very very much, has been a base of good morals to me and helping one another

  • Please stop with the word balloons, youtubers, so distracting and useless.

  • the disturbed song fit this video so perfectly!!!

and i would LOVE to see what happened to a poor larper who tried this stuff with us!! LOL

  • Watch yourself there. This poor LARPer dropped the hammer on the last SCAdian to think that just because I've been foam fighting for 8 years that I can't swing a stick, and I'm just a slightly above average fighter in Amtgard. I'm not saying I'm great, but it was hilarious to own the guy who talked like you with face stabs. :)

  • come and amor up here in north east ohio and i will show you why we pick on you pillow fighters.

  • I'm concentrating on finishing my degree this year rather than traveling for SCA. If you make it to any WV events, like Blackstone Raids or Tournament of the White Hart, ask around for John, the heavy fighter from Port Oasis, or just look for the big bald dude with a beard. I'll be happy to cross swords with you.

  • If I had a dime for every foam fighter who says they could "own" SCAers without ever OWNing real armour... I've done both.

Foam hammers need foam muscles. Swinging real hammers builds real muscles. 100:1 odds you couldn't HOLD a heavy hammer at arm's length for a day, let alone swing 17 days worth of battles in full armour. Feel free to own me with face stabs. I'm a live steel fencer and I KNOW your ego is all foam... Please take your attitude elsewhere OR put on some armour and join us!

  • Note that originally the song "Down With the Sickness" accompanied the video; YouTube no longer permits this. Normally I'm very sensitive about copyright, but YouTube is being too harsh about this stuff.

  • the correct term is LRPG (Live Role Playing Game).

  • I've always heard it Live Action Role Playing (LARP)

  • I've staffed cons for years.

"LARP" was te term used, but _NOT_ for the SCA.

    They are "medieval reenactors".

  • LARP = live action role play and this is a whole other thing then sca :)

rpg is a name they give to computergames like world of warcraft :)

    grts

  • Cool fights, I like this hobby, I kinda wanna do it lol But maby to expensive...

Why did you pick this music though? lol Looks funny with people fighting xD

  • It's not necessarily expensive. You can start out with loaner gear, and the events itself are pretty cheap for a good weekend.

  • I actually happen to be more of a fan of country rock than I am of noise rock. When YouTube deleted "Down With The Sickness," I browsed their musical choices and came up with this. I figured the theme of a band traveling on the road somewhat related to the idea of SCA events all over the country. Also, if you notice, the timing on the opening of the video and the intor of the song kinda matches up.

  • Its annoying when noise gets deleted from videos cause of copy right... Cant we all just share? lol Im not gonna say I like the music, but its your video, and dont let anyone tell you how to make it =D So are you actually in the SCA? Me and my friend are thinking of joining. I was wondering, do they alow eastern fighting styles? Im half asian and all iv done as far as sword fighting is bo staff and nunchucks in Kenpo Karate lol Is that alowed?

  • 0:19 guy gets smacked in the face XD

  • Good video, EPIC FAIL on music. This DESERVES HEAVY METAL MUSIC, Like Black Lable Society for example. BTW, I can hardly belive it, but I'm actually in this video...at the beginning....in the battle in the "hall". I rememebr being there, it is at the Fort on Dauphin Island, Alabama near Mobile. I also saw some DarkWoody's in the mix too, like Sir Nikolai..with his twisted dished helmet. Good times then...

  • Maybe if you got "layed"...naw, that'll never happen.

  • Fighters do very well thanks. There used to be a song: "If you can't get laid at the Pennsic War than you can't get laid at all."

  • i guess if you call sexing with hags "getting laid" then im sure that son was a hit

  • Discbird420, some of those women are fighters, too, and would kick your ignorant ass without mussing their hair. You use the word "hag" at your own peril.

  • LOL The sights and experiences that I've had at war that people like you only pretend to know about... LOL!

While you stay at home pouting, your wildest, most beautiful and adventurous women run off to live fantasies WITH US!... LOL So the jokes on you pouty boy! You just keep sitting in that armchair there with your free hand to play with... ;-)

  • awesome i'd love to participate in them batles

  • Yes, the SCA has NOTHING to do with LARPing.

Especially not the SCA members in this video born on planet Gor who were brought to earth in space-ships by their insectoid Priest-Kings so that they could enslave the women of the planet Earth, a fate that they say every woman "yearns for".

They aren't LARPing. They really are from another planet. Honest.

  • WTF are you talking about? This is recreated medieval martial arts done within the context of historical recreation. LARP is about being a wizard and casting spell empowered bean-bags and using floppy boffer swords against elves.

  • Actually, Spammy was talking about the SCA. The Tuchuks are an SCA household based on John Norman's series of Gor novels, "Nomads of Gor". They reside primarily in the East Kingdom and Middle Kingdom, even though they actually claim to come from the planet Gor, an alien world in which women are slaves to mighty-thewed, sword-slinging men and go about in scanty outfits and manacles, and are whipped when disobedient.

Remember, 1/3 of the SCA is "Creative"... ;-)

  • Yes we are, get over it, We're the jocks of the geeks.

  • "We're the jocks of the geeks."

A brilliantly perfect description, Squigoth. John Hodgman couldn't have said it better. My compliments to you.

  • Dommage que la musique ne colle pas avec l'évènement...Sinon, toutes mes pensées pour mes cousins québecois ! ^^

  • this song is mega fail with this video.

  • still a great vid, but not the same without down with the sickness

  • I hadn't realized Pennsic was THAT big until I saw this. Being out west, we rarely had melee events with more than 20 fighters (and I was active over 20 years ago). Thank you.

  • my friend originally compiled this video and is in it in several places

  • How do they know if someone is killed, or cheats and comes back in? soo many people.

  • Kill shots would shot to the head, in some cases boths arms or both legs, provided the hit is 6 inches above the knee & the person who receives the hit has to call it

  • you just have to be fair

  • If you are hit in the head or body hard enough for the blow to have cut through an iron helmet or chain mail shirt, you are on your honor to admit you are dead. If hit in arm or leg you have to fight without that limb. Marshals are there who will notice if you come back in, as well as everyone else. It's all about honor.

  • Is that a shiekh at 1:39?

  • WTF they didnt let you use that? those fucks. get a local band to cover the song then put it back on!!! youtube cant fuck with it then id guess. anyway, still a great video

  • Getting a local band to cover it would not resolve the issue of using a song copyrighted by someone else. It wasn;t my idea to use "Down Tith the Sickness" anyway. Pne of these days I'll go back in to YouTube's music listing and find another song, just to mix it up.

  • Just isn't the same without "Down With The Sickness" . :(

  • the comments during the video are unneeded and could of been put in the caption... we honestly dont care where you found the video...

  • new tune to the video bites

  • Yeah, uh these "nerds" will kick your ass. It takes alot of stamina, and athletic ability to do hardsuit fighting, even for a half hour. Just getting into the stuff is a workout. And speed, uh most people on the street wouldn't stand a chance against even a crappy HS fighter like me, hand to hand. Get on the gear for the first time, and let someone go full speed, and you will know real fear. And if your not fast enough, you will know real pain.

  • Interesting, love the large battles, we never do anything that size in the UK. The only thing is, why do you all appear to be armed with sticks? we use real steel swords, using sticks ruins the whole thing for me, makes it look silly. Nice video though, just wish we could have battles that big

  • Those "sticks" hurt like hell when you get hit, the video doesn't really do the combat justice in that sense, really hard to capture how fast or hard a lot of those people are swinging. I've had bruises and welts that lasted for several weeks from practices before.

  • what are the weapons made of, if you dont mind me asking, always good to know about how other groups do things. seams different to how we do re-enactment in the UK, you guys apear to do more of the roleplay aspect than we do

  • Well, as far as the role playing goes I guess that really depends from person to person. Some people get really into it, others don't. The weapons are made of rattan, the length and density changes from weapon to weapon and person to person. It's wrapped in duct tape to help keep it from breaking and also to mark the 'striking' edge. It doesn't seem like much, but like 1doc1savage1 said, give it a whirl and you'll know all about it.

  • Yeah I've seen the SCA in the UK, looked like fun, I won't give it a go though thanks, its not quite my cup of tea, does not look right to me, Think you need a bit more realism, you seam to have too much of the LARP element for me.

    have fun gents

  • I respect your opinion, but we are nothing like LARP we do use armor and swords, but there is no magic, everybody is human and we do more than fight. And we probably hit a little harder

  • LOL! I don't know how much more "real" I can get after all the BONES I've broken in the SCA. The only step MORE real would be the sharpening the pointy bits. LOL!

  • AngelisMortis01 said, "Think you need a bit more realism, you seam to have too much of the LARP element for me."

I take it AngelisMortis has no clue what LARPING is. More "realism" could only mean sharpening blades killing each other in the SCA. :-D

  • Sorry gents, didn't mean to offend ya. And yes I have done LARP, many years ago. I should have also said a few posts back, that I have been a medieval re-enactor for some years now, met up with some SCA chaps last weekend at an event we went to. Nice guys, we have many similarities, any a few differences, I just didn't get all that from the video, only realised when I spoke to some guys in the flesh, the only difference is that we use steel weapons, and have a few different strike points.

  • What I don't like about this video is that there's no sound. If you could hear the sound of the weapons hitting armour, if you could hear the train-wreck of two large units meeting on the field there would be NO mistake that this is medieval martial arts and not LARP.

  • Look at middle and eastern european re-enactment fighting. This is realistic. I find SCA un-historical. FIghting with wooden swords also sucks.

  • not the country music maybe heather dale

  • Yeah, nerds in armor hitting each other with sticks. You try it sometime!

  • y dont you try it the people of the sca aren't nerds we are people who have an awsome hobby again try it some time till then S T F U plz cuz ur ignorance is a real piss off

  • I think I speak for most people when I tell you:

    *yawn*

  • Damn! I meant to hit "reply" and I hit Remove!" Please re-post that last comment!

  • rofl JoeDSileo1988 deleted all his user comments so he can pretend he never said them and people wont see his insanely low user comment ratings. rofl you still got quoted so pretend all you want you nazi gun loving youtube narc.

Just remember joe, its better to keep your mouth shut and appear stupid than it is to open it and remove all doubt. rofl

    FNORD

  • rofl i guess joes never noticed that 'record' button on his tv vcr tape deck cd/dvd recorder TIVO etcetcetc. no law allows that right joe! rofl

joe sits at home recording himself pretending dictionaries are law books and hes a lawyer cop with a big gun like dirty hairy banning videos on youtube.

joe youre a shite stained imbécile for making things up like that and stating them as as fact. google law is one click away you idiot. rofl

  • JoeDSileo1988, remember when you said, "::Final argument ::" about 50 posts ago? LOL

You are obviously to stubborn to read what you've been told already, but the human rights violation that the RIAA is being SUED over is that corporations can't act by creating their own version of the law then act as a private judge and jury.

You pointing out that "using a PRIVATE service you have NO RIGHTS" is precisely the violation you keep asking for.

    Don't ask anymore!

You were asked to END IT...

  • Joe said, "their is no law ESTABLISHING THE RIGHT OF PEOPLE TO USE COPYRIGHTED MATERIAL WITHOUT PERMISSION!"

Fair use under Section 107 of the United States Copyright Law of 1976, as amended (Title 17, U.S. Code).:

"The number of copies shall not exceed one copy per pupil."

"a single copy of an entire performable unit may be made for a teacher for the purpose of research."

c "A single copy of recordings of performances may be made for evaluation or rehearsal purposes."

    EPIC FAIL for Joe.

  • No. There are many many more. There is not enough space here to even come close.

Note: You made up a fact that there was NO law. Fact: There are MANY.

You can't just pretend to BE smart Joe.

Your friends might be DUMB enough to believe you, but you can't simply bluff someone who IS smart.

Get a real education and learn some grammar. I say this for your own benefit.

  • "the 20th century has been characterized by three developments of great political importance: The growth of democracy, the growth of corporate power, and the growth of corporate propaganda as a means of protecting corporate power against democracy.

The most effective way to restrict democracy is to transfer decision-making from the public arena to unaccountable institutions: kings and princes, priestly castes, military juntas, party dictatorships, or modern corporations".

    -Noam Chomsky-

  • Joedsilleo said "So guess what when it comes to using a PRIVATE service you have NO RIGHTS".

and he wants ME to point out a human rights violation? rofl Id say he blindly pointed out the best example and answered hos own question

  • Joe said, "Just because you disagree with somthing doesn't mean you can ignore its existence." Joe also said, "the soverenty of the United States Constitution makes Article 11 GO AWAY"!

contradict yourself much??? I have no rights???supreme law of the land???

Now shut up you dick head nazi security guard wannabee. You might not have rights in amerika, but we do in Lochac.

I DARE Joedsillio to show up on the battlefield at Pennsic with a name tag and that attitude. 8-D

  • Yeah you do you Joe you blithering idiot. you keep asking the same question "how is it a human right" over and over and over you are answered over and over.

you ask about HUMAN rights not your twisted AMERICAN rights.

apples and oranges. Real human rights are just invisible to you and you prove that by your ignorant personnalité.

    Now shut your trap spamwad.

  • -the last comment-Noam Chomsky-Human Rights vs corporate rights-Learn to read-

  • I know why the song was deleted. It was used without permission from the owner of the copyright of the song. The current song was taken from a list of songs YouTube makes available with permission of the artists to use in videos.

  • I spent a lot of time and money producing the DVD version of the Pennsic War Video Documentary that this footage was taken from, without my permission. While I appreciate the work that went into making this video, I wish I'd been asked first, I probably would have said yes.

If you like this video, or any video, or song, or art, etc, please consider supporting the artist by buying it or getting other people to buy it, or asking permission before using it.

  • Just to clarify an issue or two that was brought up:

1: I did not create this edited montage of scenes, nor did I attach the "Down With The Sickness" song. That was done by someone else.

I own the rights to the footage of Pennsic XX that is in this montage, by virtue of acquiring it from the producers of the Pennsic War Video Documentary that it comes from. I introduced them to the SCA, and they got all the waivers, releases, and permissions that were needed in 1991 to shoot at Pennsic.

  • OK guys, enough with the debate on law and the constitution!

  • JoeDSileo, Dubs comment was right. He was factual in his link he posted. He was right about article 11. He was right that the riaa is being sued over _constitutional_ human rights violations for causing situations much like captainzorikhs.

A _private_ corporation acting in their own interest as judge and jury in criminal cases is a human rights violation under section 11 of the universal declaration of human rights.

And he was right that you ignore every time he answers you.. 'article 11'

  • JoeDSileo, you say that being an American makes the Universal Declaration of human rights 'go away'?

You are 'guilty of no crime' when you forcibly kidnap innocent people 'if you let them go'?

    You are an idiot..

  • After posting links for you, (Joe,) posting an article for you, answering your question over and over in plain English, you KEEP asking the SAME question.

Answer: ARTICLE 11 OF THE UNIVERSAL DECLARATION OF HUMAN RIGHTS.

The RIAA is being sued by Harvard Law over that EXACTLY.

What you are doing is being PURPOSEFULLY ignorant and making up your own "version" of truth. Your IGNORANCE of the UDofHR does NOT make article 11 go away.

Stop pretending you can't see it. LOL

  • Joe said, "The sovereignty of the United States Constitution makes Article 11 go away."

No kidding ASSHOLE! American nazis like you think being American means human rights violations don't count for you!

    \

Your so special you can detain people water board them and human rights don't count for you. You can invade/arrest/shoot anyone you want to be a bad guy.

Human rights stop counting at the american border? =hes right!=

You are a bully on the block of the planet.

  • Joe thinks he can arrest people! rofl

  • JoeDSileo, you had better be more than 'probably' right when you tackle a person because you _think_ he is guilty.

    If he's not:

    _False_ arrest is a crime.

    Felonious Restraint is a crime.

Further, when an _innocent_ person is _illegally_ confined by another person, the charge escalates to false imprisonment.

If someone is illegally detained and _transported_,it escalates to kidnapping.

And when you shoot that innocent man you _thought_ was a criminal, guess who goes to jail for murder..

  • That sucks that they made you change your video. I hate the fact that people think that CopyRIGHTS are more important that our HUMAN RIGHTS...

Cheers to you and your video. I copied it before it was changed and shared it.... :-)

  • Singing "Happy Birthday" in public is enough to have to PAY BMI/ASCAP. "You've got mail" and "Lets get ready to rumble" are copyrighted too. The Pennsic Castle in this video is someone's ART that hasn't been paid for it's use, not to mention the flags and devices are someone's personal art, just like a song. The SCA or the individuals didn't give written permission to be shown on youtube doing their "art". The Armour was created by armourers who did not give permission to show their "art".

  • The SAME law makes it illegal to show or PLAY copyrighted songs in "public", which includes having a party/dance/get together.

"Public performance of copyrighted material." Make sure you remember that next time you play your radio in the car with the windows rolled down. LOL

People should not be forced to PAY for the right to express themselves or use reference material that is meaningful to a subject just because it is "public".

  • It is just as illegal even if you dont profit from it. Your 'not for profit' theory is total myth.

  • In the US, letting PRIVATE organizations enforce their 'own law' like a private police force is supposed to be illegal. That would be a human right violation. They are totally biased for personal profit & artists have NO SAY in the matter and see NO MONEY in RIAA settlements. Take note of how stars like Van Halen, Heart, Jackson Browne, John Melloncamp, & Brooks&Dunn could NOT stop McCain from using their songs in campaign commercials & rallies DESPITE Cease and desist letters. RIAA sucks.

  • I'm smart enough to know that defendants are entitled to due process accorded to criminal defendants, including criminal procedure and right to a jury trial.

It is a violation of the Constitution to put the prosecution of a CRIMINAL statute in the hands of PRIVATE parties.

It's a question of constitutionality which you obviously know nothing about.

    Try Harvard law!

    government,zdnet,com/?p=4152

They are now suing the RIAA over that EXACT VIOLATION. LOL

Knowledge is power, and you have none.

  • JoeDSileo, security guards cant act as police. You dont know law so stop pretending. The more you say the more stupid you sound.

  • JoeDSileo, No they dont.

Felonious restraint. 565.120. 1. A person commits the crime of felonious restraint if he knowingly restrains another unlawfully and without consent so as to interfere substantially with his liberty.

A badge doesnt make a $3 an hour high school drop out a police officer or give him special powers. They do not have the ability to "arrest suspects".

JoeDSileo, knowing law is more than having a hunch or making things up as you go along. Stop being a poser.

  • You mean a TOY badge right? Strait out of a cracker jack box where i live. You get more powers by putting an S on your shirt. 8-D

  • Flourintine is amazing tho even if it is hard i bac weild my left hand but i use basket hilt swords so its pretty hard yeah

  • HOW ABOUT SOMETHING FROM AMON AMOTH

  • I like Vikings.

  • Apparently to copyright holder of "Get |Down Wiht the Sickness" decided that usiong that song in this video is a violation of cpyright. I will be trying a few different tunes over the next few weeks. Please comment and let me know what you think.

Suggestions for music will also be appreciated, though most of the music available on Youtube is by folks you never heard of.

  • ive had one of those happen... you would think the publicity from the songs on a non-downloadable site would be welcomed.

  • my dad is sir connor look him up im his soon and im 13 im gonna go flourintine fighting and im already in battles

  • Flourintine is hard.

  • No. You can ne 16 and join. Because I have my Armor and Weapons. But, At 16 you MUST GET AUTHORIZED FOR 2 WEAPONs FIRST. Sword & Board (Sheild). You have to get good at that. After words you can go ingo mass weapons ( Axes, Hammers,Maces ETC )Or Polearms Includes Spear and pike i think. Great sword,And dual swords or axes w.e Is uhh. I forget the anme but they have it. Boffers are still fun tho

  • actually it depends on which kingdom you are in. 16 in some 18 in others. The fighting "forms" are Sword and shield, Flourentine (or two weapon), Great weapon (2 handed sword), Polearm, and Spear. There is also combat archery.

  • hey this is cool myy teacher saw this for real and he teaches sience how old od u have to be to fight?

  • You must be 18 to fight in the SCA. There is, however, youth fighting up until then, which is done with boffers (foam swords).

  • man this video never gets old.

  • Upon further review, that IS Gatalop at fort Gaines. An amazing place to fight, especially in that breach! Rockin video!

  • The first scene, isn't that Gatalop in Meridies? There isn't a structure like that at pennsic is there?

  • Amazing Video... Someday I'll go to Pennsic and see this in person.

  • It amazes me how much some people love to argue over petty things. The SCA does things for fun. Of course it isn't going to be 100% realistic, that would just be rediculous. The only way to make this more realistic would be to use actual metal weapons, but that would make fights dangerous.

  • whats the name of this song?

  • down with the sickness by disturbed

  • wow goe that's real mature of u *cough*. don't u get that its for fun but yet real. the only time u can can legally hit someone with weapons? (obviously not sharpened)

  • Why all the anger? Dont you know that this is a fun thing? Its a study of history and culture and society.

kali sticks and knives brutal? No IED's Snipers, EFP's are brutal. If you dont believe me come and join me in Baghdad.I will show you where some of us train.

You are entitled to your opinion and your remarks. So go ask your mom if you can stay up and get back to me...but remember its a school night.

Live from Iraq: Dubhlainn13 (DarkSword) OUT!

  • You had PSD convoys? Or you were a part of one. I dont know of anyone who is here for 6 years continuous. Actually, I don't know of anyone who still calls them Arabs. You must have been somewhere else than Iraq.Well somewhere other than Baghdad, thats probably the case.

In the end it doesnt matter. These people in the SCA are good people. They do it for fun. But hey if you need to pick on them to prop yourself up, so be it...must be ptsd.

  • LOl good one

  • There are several thousand SCA fighters. Some are tougher than others. Some even do FMA as well. To compare "real world" fighting with SCA fighting is apples & oranges. The SCA is a sport with rules, and does not claim to teach self-defense. Some things in FMA are against the rules in SCA.

I know a FMA teacher who uses SCA armor to train, and actually didn't do so well when he started out in the SCA, since SCA weapons & rules are different from FMA. Who have you fought?

  • the pop ups made me stop watching!

  • You can turn them off you know...

  • Don't get me wrong. I am happy to see it. It just seems that you went out of your way to put up pop-ups during the video explaining the horrible thing that was done to you, but you then kinda did the same thing. I am just glad that videos like this get put up.. permission or not. Especially since I have actually tried for years to find who made that pennsic video so I could buy a copy. But there was no info available

till now. The SCA needs all the good press it can get these days.

  • It's nice to see the video up again, but I can't help but... You seem upset that someone used your old video (which I saw years ago) without your permission, but you seem to be using their footage without permission to promote your video. seems a bit hypocritical. Maybe I am just misunderstanding. Are you upset about this, or are you glad to have a promotional piece... btw, do you have that pensic video on dvd from the original footage?

  • Your perception of my ambivalence is correct. I am glad people are able to see the video, but the original creator of this clip did not contact me in any way nor did he mention the source of the video he used. Thus, I got no benefit from it. His YouTube profile has been deleted, and it was a 3rd party who posted it on MySpace, where a 4th party directed me to it, so I have no way of contacting him. It could be considered quid pro quo that I use his video when he used mine.

  • captainzorikh is it fun i was thinking about going this year looks intense
