Its refreshingly not trying to be cool... seems a bit retro to me, but at least its a break from all the major, esp american brands, with their super macho ads
so maybe 20-30 people in the world earn a decent amount from racing rc. the vast majority of rc cars (so called hobby grade) will never win a competitve race, they are bought by people who enjoy messing about or casual racing (like me). Even for those who race competitively the costs out weigh any winnings. The worlds and national races are there to promote the manufacurers reputations, who are aiming to sell cars to club racers, and vids like this promote the 'toys'
the tnx 5.2r is a 1/8 scale custom MT by tamiya its more then race worthy :D however the engine is .32 would need to be changed to a .28 or something, but its built like a tank :D
it looks pretty cool but i only drive cc-01 and tt-01

The TNX has weak clutches !
EBTerriers 2 years ago
lul! - i've raced mine on stock clutch for over a year... it's just people don't know how to drive it.
warranqe 2 years ago
Thats funny cause here in the UK shops stopped selling the TNX 5.2 r due to tamiya UK recalling them due to faulty clutches !
The clutch spring busts after just a few tanks of fuel...even tamiyas own racers were having the same problem lol
Go on the fourms and read up on it ...theres loads of stuff about how poor the clutches are in them !
EBTerriers 2 years ago
the problem was the first batch after that they were fine its all on how u drive them, as i said before mines still going after a year...
