  • I like how Sandra mentions Luke Ferro and Anna Davis on the planet Arkadia. Does anyone know how Anna Davis and Luke Ferro are doing on the planet Arkadia.

  • WAY UNDERRATED AND FORGOTEN TV SHOW. I AM IT'S BIGGEST FAN. LONG

LIVE 1999. OUR GOVERNMENT HAS BITTERLY DISAPOINTED US WITH NOTHING ON THE MOON. WHEN NASA DIES SO DOES OUR CULTURE.

  • Awh brings back memory's

  • I guess I thought the Eagles were cool looking or something LOL

  • I loved this show when I was a kid. I can't imagine why, but I did.

  • After twenty years with the same people, trapped on the same Moon Base, why would she still need her identification badge?

  • There were a LOT of silly things in this show (though it IS my fave sci-fi TV program). Why did most people have laser guns, if originally the moon was in orbit around Earth, and rather peaceful? Why DID the Alphans not have any children, even though a lot of people died during the series? Even though it seemed at least 10 Eagles were destroyed, how were they always replaced?

  • @shmuli9 if Star Trek is located in the 24 century, why they use communication devices without screens like today? if in Star Wars they have a powerfull DeathStar that destroy planes, what they have to wait to pass one planet to destroy the another, they should shot twice! See my point? just try to enjoy the show! these was made for visionary people that dream about all of there even years before they make it and I bet before you and me were born.

  • @faridalvarez Si, es la verdad... Disfruto del espactulo... I DO hope they 'remake' it and call it 'Space 2099', though...

  • Resource gathering became a problem for Moonbase Alpha. In all places they traveled they had to find needed resources; and build manufacturing, agriculture, and refining, or die. Nuclear power would get them 20-years at the top end, maybe 25-years but the last years would shut down everything as power would dim, but it is a math problem that cannot be conserved; the reactor has an output and always will use it--back to resource gathering.

  • I saw Zienia Merton recently appeared in an episode of the Sarah Jane Adventures, she played a justice of the peace. Nice to see she's still acting.

  • I remember the day before Space:1999 premered. It was September 12, and Martin Landau was on The Mike Douglas Show, talking about his new show and how the first episode. Would be shown on saturday, September 13th. Which I thought was brilliant because the talk ( amoung the geeks/FANS) would be how far or close to future reality they came. Monday morning a few talked about it and with time. The fan base grew. It's good to see this old friend once more...THANKS!!

  • Wonderful series. I remember the first episode when it was televised on WPIX 11 in NYC. The first year episodes were wonderful. Unfortunately, American producer Fred Frieberger destroyed what credibility the show had in year two. We won't forget you, Sandra! Safe journey (thx for memories)!

  • There was an episode where Koenig ran into some kind of interstellar witch, who prophesied that "Your journey will know no end." Guess not all prophesies come true. :) :) :)

  • Good bye Alpha.

  • I figured Commander Koening would make the final report.

  • Now is the time for British television to reintroduce or create a sequel to Space: 1999. Since Doctor Who is now on its fourth season, younger viewers may like a revised version of Space 1999. The new series should be more realistic in terms of scientific theory (no crazy physics from the original series), more alien races (including allowing the Psychons to remain alive.) Look what happened when they reinvented Battlestar Galactica and the original Star Trek.

  • @09kolmann If you hear of a remake let me know I would like to be on set ;) Thanks !

  • Man, that was a heart breaker. Always loved this show. Different view point on Sci-Fi. Moonbase Alpha will always be remembered. A toast and cheers to cast, crew and creators.

  • What about God? No one can do much of anything without God.

Give Glory unto God and see your dreams come True, no matter what they are. Amen.

  • so in they themselves received there own message in the beginning lol

  • If they had enough Eagles to evacuate the base then why didn't they just go back to earth in the beginning?

  • It was addressed in the first episode that by the time they realized the situation there wasn't enough fuel to power the eagles all the way back to earth. However, the question still stands as why they didn't evacuate BEFORE the explosion. lol.

  • Because in the first epsiode when the explosion started. They were hit by G forrces and no could move.

  • @DustersInc They didn't anticipate the moon going off orbit.

  • They were at a few light years far away from Earth when it was blown out of orbit. During the series, the moon has encountered some phenomenon that enabled them to return to Earth.

  • goodbye alpha ...you will live on in our hearts forever

  • Thank you for that after 32 years as a school boy fan closure at last i would still like to see more from the space 1999 story ...far ahead of it's time !

  • Thanks for the clip.

Used to watch this all the time as a kid

  • wow she looks 30 years older than when the series was originally running go figure ....

  • So who the heck is Michael that she says they will always remember?? What about David Kano? They forgot about him... :-(

  • Michael was Sahs's Fiance he dies in the opening of Black sun

  • Wow, good memory. Thanks!

  • I like the last transmission that ended the series because it begged the question would there have been any humans left on earth to see this mssage? If not they could of been the last humans.

  • We'll remember you

  • Someone can publish a subtitles version of this video? I can't understand spoken english

  • @vu14tu102

good point, and should of been considered when the film was being developed, i mean space 1999 does have a international fan base.

  • I cried. This is so good.

  • I'll remember you Sandra. For ever !

  • At the very end when it says "Encoding Message" it should keep asking her if she wants to "Allow Message Encoding" then give her a error message that reads "Windows has encountered a problem and needs to close. Search online for a solution and shut down". ... message has been corrupted and has been lost. Windows Error message 384q978987ijkfjskblahblah blah blah....

  • After Windows VISTA crashed all systmes all systmes are damaged beyond repair. The drives are too damaged to switch to Linux but there is hope that after the Apple Fiasco Crisis and the VISTA destruction that somehow in some small way that Linux can be of some small hope.

  • PS I am sorry for the typos. I have a speach impeppermint.

  • I loved this show... truly an "Iconic Show"! My favorite character was Maya; the fabulous Catherine Schell who married a French Director.

  • Oops..I guess you mean this particular clip.

  • LOL. Someone thought it was filmed in 1999? Try 1975.

  • @rojman123 yes the series was set in 1999 to be fair though the person may of been seeing space 1999 for the first time in 1999

  • This was NOT filmed in 1999 because I watched the TV serie in Europe (Belgium) in the late 1970's early 1980's.

I'd still prefer the trees on earth than getting on a rocket booster and live in space where everything is artificial.

I thnk the last show of the serie when they move out of moon base was the best part of the whole show.

A lesson perhaps to be learnt by scientists nowadays... It's always a movie first.

  • Is that how the series really ended, with them abandoning Moon Base Alpha? I don't remember...

  • And here we are, nine years later, and we still don't have cool spaceships and live on the moon!...ee-cripes!

  • This was beautifully written and splendidly acted. I think it gives a hint of the quality the show could have achieved in a second season, and subsequent seasons, if it hadn't been lethally infantilized by Freddie Frieberger, aka the Dr. Kevorkian of Quality Television programs.

  • I wondered what happened to all of them, I'll tell Kirk and oh man, he's dead...Well I let John Luke know and ith that new ship of theres, it'll pick them up right?

  • Damn, I'd still like to give Sandra a good seeing to! Zienia You still look fab!

  • Coming across this vid was totally unexpected. It's given us the story update. Wow!

  • Was this actually the last scene?

  • No. This was a scene created specifically for a fan celebration of the show in 1999. It was later put on a bonus disc of the complete DVD collection.

  • Does the DVD say when this was shot?, she does look older, but still damn good!

  • This was shot in 1999 (the actual year). The series ended without a conclusion so this was made for the fan convention of that year bringing a closure to the series.

  • I for one wish to thank you...so many years later (ten actually!).

I had a friend who had an Eagle playset & I loved the show when I was younger. I actually wasn't aware of the fandom around this show until I found this video.

I know it sounds corny, but *I'll remember*.

    Revengel

  • @DustersInc oh, your referring to the short film up date not the tv series that inspired it hope you enjoyed it as i did and still do.

  • Ah ... the music ... the eagles ... maya ...thanks for posting good memories !

  • Wow, I watched this when I was a kid. Never thought I would see this again. Great! Thanks for posting this!

  • You're welcome and thanks for the comments.

  • Great video! A tv movie sure would be nice!

I always have loved this show.

  • Thank you. I kept waiting for the TV film to finish the series but. . .well, I'll keep waiting.

  • Very Touching !!!

  • Thanks for posting, very nice
