i love the phantom of the opera. i've read every book and sequel of it. but it seriously frustrates me because the phantom had a horrible child hood, a "ugly" face (i think its beautiful<3), and he finally falls in love and the girl LOVES him back yet ofcourse some pussy pretty guy with money comes and takes "the only person who would listen" away.
I don't care what he says, this man can sing. With a few more months of vocal training, he could learn to relax his voice into having a vibrato, and then he'd be an awesome singer.

@dansfc31 Andrew Lloyd Webber wrote it for the film version. He wanted an additional song and then he and Joel Schumaker decided either for time or content they had to remove it.

The movie in that sense is a bit foolish and incoherent, but that doesn't mean it's a valid story in its own right that we can enjoy! I in no way try to ruin or challenge your enjoyment of either.
Plot inaccuracies tend to lead to confusion, neither of us is to blame.

@dansfc31 Andrew Lloyd Webber wrote it for the film version. He wanted an additional song and then he and Joel Schumaker decided either for time or content they had to remove it.

@victoria4010 That depends on how you define "viable." I understand how some might have issues with his face, voice and so on, but I personally love Gerry's emotional portrayal. Heck, people praise the stage show to the skies which, as an adaptation, gives itself license to change things, and the 2004 movie is merely an extension of that. Don't get me started on "Love Never Dies," though...
Given how many versions of this story are out there, "true Phan" that you are, to which do you refer?

Hey, I'm going to see Love Never Dies in Sydney next month and saw a practice shot of about 10 mins of the Aussie Phantom & Christine! No wonder the UK show went flat. I bawled all thru the clip.They were singing "Under a Moonless Sky" & "Once Upon Another Time".He caressed and touched her, she was crying & I was bawling like a baby...Sooo hot, romantic & tender!

@ElfenLied8389 Indeed. You will sympathize with the Phantom, no doubt (cast away, and a cast away genius at that), but you will understand what Christine did in the novel.
The movie in that sense is a bit foolish and incoherent, but that doesn't mean it's a valid story in its own right that we can enjoy! I in no way try to ruin or challenge your enjoyment of either.
Plot inaccuracies tend to lead to confusion, neither of us is to blame.

@Iced1992 I love the Phantom in the movies and am not a huge fan of Raoul, not that I dislike him because his character is pretty nice (Cept in the 2004 movie when he sees the Phantom and thinks he can fight him. Idiot. :P). I will either download it or buy it. Probably buy because I am an avid reader (Romance and what not. :P)

SOOO BEAUTIFUL THE SONG AND THE VOICE. Por què èsta escena no la incluyeron en la pelicula. Sè que a veces no ponen todas las escenas para que la pelicula no sea tan larga pero èsta debia haber estado y mas porque describe muuy bien como "conocio" Erik a Christine y lo que siente por ella.
