The first rhythm machine I ever had was one of these. Replaced it and then finally ripped this thing apart for parts and just to see what it looked like inside **shakes head, palms face** Oh, the humanity!

the BEST thing to do with one of these is to run it through a delay that you've synced to it. THEN fool around with the tuner knob. Trust me it's AWESOME.
although I'm not a big fan of circuit bending I'd recommend to add some midi control, or at least some trigger inputs in it so that it can be controlled externally by sequencer/PC
'modifying' means improving a limited device with potential, 'bending' means make a device do tings beyond it's capabilities until it breaks. I'm all for modifying :)

Everything does not need to be bent, some things are cool
as is (stock), but this machine can not be programmed,
all you can do is mix the preset beats and play the drum pads.I had one of these years ago to accompany my
yamaha CSO1 synth( they both came out about the same time), I got bored of it quick because I had alot of programmable machines , 505, 606, 626, 808, 909 etc, etc... MR10 has some
cool sounds, but I am sure if it gets bent up it would
exactly, it's just idiots permanently altering rare and classic pieces of equipment to make awful sounds. Why not just sample them on a computer and use a bit crusher effect instead.
I used to have one. Great little toy

@apofkapsokefopaskfeo
Everyone at this point knows that Phil used a roland cr-78 for that.

Hey I had one of these years ago when they came out.
It would be awesome to see what a BENT one would be like.
I haven't seen one BENT yet.

why does every thing needs to be bent ? those drum sounds are so fantastic ! they remind me of the 606.
thanks for the video, didn't know about this drummachine yet.

i agree...bending is kind of really over ratted. most of the bends arnt even worth it.
the only way i see bending being worth it is if it somehow BENEFITS the instrument...not just a noise maker.

lets say society is over bended. we allready know this sounds of glitchy casio/yamaha/bontempi/...
i'm not against bending but you need to use it in a subtile way.
fuckingharpsichord 3 years ago 3
I would much rather leave the instrument original and use an external filter like a sherman filterbank ...
