i agree anonymous, john looked so hot here! the best he ever looked. i remember watching the anthology and george saying that john thought he was fat in those days. is he serious! he was sexy as hell! i loved him like that. i hated when he got withn yoko and grew his hair long and was pencil thin.

@LadyScorpio39 Yeah, but it was before Yoko that John started losing weight. Like, almost immediately after the "Fat Beatle" comment was made he started to just not eat much at all. Which is why he looks so thin if you compare him on their 1966 tour to a year prior.

no, he met yoko in 1967. although they didnt get together until much later, in 1969. but it was around this time in 1967 he started to lose weight. in 1966 he was still quite healthy looking.

no he met yoko in 1967. and he filmed "how i won the war" in 1967. it was released in october of 1967. he filmed the movie after brian epstein died. which is around the same time he met yoko.

and yes i realize the november 1966 you are talking about is when he saw her art show for the first time. but it wasnt until 1967 that he started to associate with her on a regular basis, altough they didnt actually start dating until some time after that.

But I know some stuff- perhaps I am not as huge a Beatles fan as you but I do know these facts: John filmed HIWTW in Spain in the latter part of '66, he returned home to the UK in November and met Yoko then. That is what I was saying; that he met her in 1966, not when they started dating. My point was that he had lost weight prior to meeting Yoko. :)

help me here beatle fans. i am an all time rush fan and beatles fan. my problem is that veiwers and some rush fans are very shallow about the beatles.i commented the beatles as the centurys' greatest composers,period.their music is listened to, to this very day!calling lennon a fuckhead is not the way to go.they just don't see it,i don't get it.

hey ianj2112: I love BOTH Rush & Beatles. They r both phenomenal bands, just totally different. In 1 u have possibly 1 of lowest-skilled rock drummers of all time & in the other u have 1 of the highest-skilled drummers of all time. That is not meant as an insult. Of course Rush could've played circles around the Beatles. Alex, Geddy and Neil are way better technical musicians than the Beatles. But what's really important 2 me, & particularly strong in both bands, is the song-writing ability.

they both wrote great songs using their respective musical skills, & in my view each band is about equally strong on the songwriting, maybe Beatles being a little bit better in terms of musical range and pure melodic value, while Rush is better in terms of being tighter as a band & far more technically proficient. Lyrically, I'd have to say that Lennon & Peart r an equal match - both r astoundingly brilliant. So both bands r important, both have a huge soul and I love both equally well.

Originally I was pointing out that fact in reference 2 Canada--that The Beatles meant more 2 kids than Rush did, or religion, at the time. I wasn't knocking Rush or putting em down, I was just sayin it as a fact. & it's sort of true, 'specially more 4 Canada than here. I'm not sayin that The Beatles are better, or greater, or comparing them with Neil Peart as a person or God as a thing or whatever it is, u know. I just said what I said & it was wrong, or was taken wrong. & now it's all this! :-P
