with the lotus the average driver could get close to the times these guys were settin in the other two it would require so much more than the average driver has to offer to drive as fast as they did. i wuld love to have the caterham just for the smile it wuld put on my face as im spinning round in circles :)

ariel atom driver is the weakest of the bunch...Harris woulda easily clocked the fastest lap with the atom. Hell i think i could do a better lap than fatso...

I don't think so, unless they would change the tires on the atom. They are too narrow and don't give very much grip.

the atom obviously suffered boost lag at low revs and the SC couldn't feed enough boost until late exit

Man, what boost lag? It's SC'ed and there is no boost lag! Just hard to control the power coming from 300bhp engine.

youre confused with SPOOL lag in a turbo. all forced induction don't boost until they spin to speed. in SC, if the car is not reving high enough, SC will just be a weight and wear down some horsepower

Ariel uses positive displacement SC and it delivers fixed amount of air per revolution. Not like centrifugal SC which works more like turbo.

You get boost from low revs and depending of your engines VE, boost will drop or rise with the rise of revs.

that little r500 wasted a £million 1000BHP+ Bugatti at the top gear test track (which has some decent straights on it too!)

jethro keeps stabbing the throttle in the corners which isn't smooth which isn't fast!

you curtail the throttle comming in (sometimes, depending on the car) then once you begin to exit the corner you get on the gas and you do not get off the gas until you are about to leave the track because your traction won't hold you.. Its hard to do but its what you are supposed to do. He went round like my mother, or said another way, with not a lot of courage and or commitment.
