  • you're doing great with the education and supporting of his growth with this disease, my husband has type 1 and struggles still with regulating it, he's in his 40's. The doctors are looking into the pump, I know this video is old, have you thought of getting Connor on the pump, from what I've seen it's great for youngsters starting out with the disease. Best of luck for your family. Thank you for sharing:))

  • @dolphyn2 He now has a pump! It's been so great for him too. I need to do a video for his routine to put up. I'll get to work on that. :)

  • I absoulutely hate living with this disease. I think the worst part is people asuming that I caused this by unhealthy eating. Not the shots, the asumpsions. Sorry about the rant. Conner is so brave!

  • @Imnotdumbimjustcrazy i know exactly what you mean!!!!

  • @Imnotdumbimjustcrazy I know how you feel! I've heard the most annoying things when people realize he's diabetic. "He has diabetes? But he's not fat!" or "Well, how much sugar did you give him? If he had a better diet then maybe he wouldn't have it." This one really makes me mad. He eats better than probably 90% of he kids he goes to school with! I try to not let it get to me though and just use it as an opportunity to educate.

  • i was diagnosed with type 1 at the age of 9 (almost 19 years ago), and he's a lot braver than I was at 9. Diabetes is a horrible disease that no one should have to endure, especially such a young child.
