i learnt the hard way while having a play at 'ross and locke' just south of cairns. crossed the river, the fan hit the water and disintergrated. took out the radiator and the fan cowling on the way. Big thanks to the local wreckers! ;-)
@markssite the whole idea is to avoid the water getting to the engine. We had 3 cars n our traveling convoy and we all used this technique and no one got bogged...that crossing is notorious for ending people's trip...

@frmbrzl i must say ive never seen a tarp being used before but cant water seep through the rest of the engine bay hitting the fan and radiator?
