with beautiful music like this no one ever gaines weight. It was so hard to keep still. We woke up to this on the radio - disco92 played this. We dances brushing our teeth then at lunch time then after school. Nowa days the music sucks! I don't dance anymore and I'm fat! I think next week I'm going to go to a dance school to at least hustle again. I miss these days of great music. Thanks for posting and the great music history of this song.
I am turning 62 next month. This was from the days of 12 West, the loft. flamingo. thanks for the memories. Most of the people are gone but this is a connection. thanks
They may never make music like this anymore. This era was truly once in a lifetime..I was in my late teens when this game changing music was born. Long Live Disco! Dance til you drop! Hustle!!!
@lcr28502 loves this fricken song was in my late teens . remembering starship on 42 and 8 av. roseland, ipenima, there were so many disco at that time, i want to go back in time. it was a simple life back then. my name is leo from degraw st brooklyn. if any one knows me hit me up.
If he wasn't dancing to Grace Jones and Gloria Gaynor in the disco's in the late 70's, GREG MAY was dancing to "Come Into My Heart" and "Baby Love" by the USA/European Connection. Remember their "Do You Want To Get Closer?" That one was used in a toothpaste commercial.
AWESOME this is the music that made me dance all night 1977-78-79, this is DISCO ORCHESTRA music at its best, along with ALEC COSTANDINOS I FOUND LOVE, GOOD ALL DAYS
@musicboynyc, I went to Ice Palace 57, but it was in the early 80s. Gino Soccio's Remember was big. So was Nona Hendryx's Keep It Confidential. Great club. All the Fifth Avenue rich straight kids came to dance with the gay guys!
@GreatSongwriters LOL indeed...my cross to bear was when someone came up and said "play something I can dance to..." which usually translated to "got any radio stuff?". I still fine it hard, at my advanced years, to sit still as I listen to this. Lord that sax solo !!
EN MEMORIA DEL SONIDO BOGAR, QUE HIZO LAS FIESTAS DE LA CALLE DE LA AMARGURA, EL FRONTON DE ALTAVISTA, Y PORSUPUESTO YMCA POLANCO Y RIO CHURUBUSCO, O ADEMAS TODAS LAS FIESTAS EN EL PEDREGAL DE SAN ANGEL. Thank you so much for the music video, really appreciate it alot. Brings back memories of the DJ's, that brought it to Los Angeles back in the days. Me and the Girls would go across the floor with this song. Everyone would get up to dance. Owner did not mind we were just 16yrs old.
There's nothing better than seeing a Marlin record label spinning on an SL1200 MKII and this song blaring from the speakers. Makes me feel 17 again... Love it.
I used to go there when I was 16 yrs old. OMG I had to paint a mustache on my face in order to get in. Sometimes the Bouncer was to high to even notice me. LOL. The lighting show was amazing.
I remember my dad owning an 8-track of this USA European Connection album that contains this title song...haven't heard this in years, and it brings me back memories.
You have no idea how this music just transforms me back to my Disco days dancing the Hustle at the clubs in NY. Amazing how it brings chills through my body. I LOVE, LOVE, LOVE this song!!!!! Thanks for the post.
I'll take this over any" hood"sounds anyday I went out without guns and came back home unscathed for twelve years..women were called "honeys" now the're bitches and act like it..
Disco brilliance. Never again will we see this. It set the standard then and, to me, stands as the Disco song for the ages. It's been exactly 30 years since this came out and hit #1 on the dance charts. Thanks.

Back in the 70's, when I was a Disco DJ, I used to play this song to death. Loved it, loved it, loved it!
For my own personal taste, as a DJ, I loved and preferred to play the Eurodisco, exclusively!
But, inevitably, someone from the crowd would always come up to me and say, "Hey Man, play Brickouse!"
BPM's right out the window; it was all over!
LOL
