Dial-up isn't that bad... it's just bad for things like YouTube (even 240p videos load really slow, and you can't select a quality lower than that :P).
It's actually really good for basic web browsing, and basic things like e-mail. Dial-up is also important if you do things like faxing regularly, because then your computer can receive the faxes.
@sonic3243 Yeah Because faxes are still important and its all hooked up to your super fast 100Mhz single core processor computer that has a whopping 50mb of RAM.
@hu0189743 who cares about any smartphone right now, when it'll be obsolete 2 months after it comes out? Who dafuq needs a quad core phone with 5" screen and 10328890709GB storage? Hell, who needs a dual core? Or anything above 600MHz single core? I bet you have to charge the phone every day.
@sonic3243 Computers go obsolete within months too lmfao. 1850Mah battery lasts me a long time. nd who needs the internet?????? I don't need it its just nice to have. Humans dont need anything but food shelter and procreation but im not gonna go there.
My phone is more powerful, faster, has 2 cameras one thats 1080pHD, with a 4.5 inch screen. HDMI out with bluetooth turns this into a laptop or desktop. 4GLTE speeds. Your mad because your tech is crappy.
@hu0189743 - no, my tech isn't crappy. I have new and old tech. I built a desktop (that I'm typing on right now) with a quad core, 4GB RAM, ATI Radeon HD5770, and a bunch of other modern and fast features. Is it my favorite computer? No, my 1999 Gateway is my favorite. It may not be the newest but is my most reliable computer. It may not be the fastest piece of hardware, but it CAN play YouTube videos at 240p, no issues.
I'm not even mad :'D You're right about the human thing.
@hu0189743 bragging about my desktop? It didn't cost a lot (like $650?), and is over a year old. Why would I spend the same amount of money for a phone as my computer. A PHONE. To make phone CALLS.
What kind of Nokia '98 is it? I remember Nokia was one of the best brands back then...
@hu0189743 haha yeah, but $250 on contract. Cingular was the best you can get, now it's meh but under the "AT&T" name. Unlimited LTE data, that's awesome.
i am ment to get 20 mbps...... but i only get 1.75 everone in my aria gets up to 13 mbps..... been in touch with some companys and they all say that there is nothing they can do must be my house lol
through the phone line, check your internal wires.
from a cable company (fiber or coax)call your provider out and get them to fix the problem its there line so its there job to fix it. just keep hounding them till they do it. if that doesnt work id say change providers to one that cares about there current customers
@OhNoNotMyPenis yeah man i think its the bt line but its sky who provide broadband so they say they cant fix it lol... broadband companys allways rip you off in the uk lol
@SuperJuandude Well, I got the triple play from verizon so I'm paying about $100/month for tv phone and internet, but it'll go up after the introductory contract expires. I was paying $10/month for the dial-up
@wvagte yea me 2. but we had peoplepc.com omg good times waiting so long. idk if it got any faster. but we have comcast and we only have 1.5 mb of ram its not bad but whatever.
does fios need any special hardware or any special lines, and can it boost broadband speeds too? after you installed it your connection is way faster than my connection and I'm on broadband!
well fios isn't cable or anything, it's technically "broadband", but not really. it's a fiber optic cable, and that allows speeds to be faster than normal cable. it's a pretty simple installation, the fios guys know what they're doing. Fios is definitely one of the best decisions I ever made.
Damn! I dropped dial-up in 2004!

@hu0189743 fax is very important in many companies.
My super fast 450MHz Pentium 3 with 128MB RAM and Voodoo3 plays Crysis at a whopping 1 frame per month and sends fax all at the same time!

@sonic3243 phone only cost $250...and I can use it was a portable laptop.
Nokia 5190 from 1998. Cingular.
But lets drop the argument. He upgraded to fiber optic from slow ass dial up. I have 4G LTE that I can use anywhere, unlimited data, mobile hotspot.
You have other computers.
Done. *EPIC EXPLOSION*
