  • What a great get. Man, I remember those great blues and rock review shows in the late 60s. Mitch Ryder often headlined the show. They were hot, gritty, sweaty and sexy affairs.

  • hmm some one show have taught him the words to this song.....

  • Great song. Terrific guitar -Robert Gellespie.

  • It's too bad the original has disappeared from youtube (as far as I can tell), but this guy does it serious justice.

  • Perfect ending to an agonizing and amazing day! Thanks for sending it to me Geezzerboy! Broke my toes on dance floors all over Vancouver to this kind of stuff, remind'n myself how to HAVE FUN! -- smack dab in the middle of all the hurricanes of all my Freed'm-Fight'n Jizz! :) Cheers!

  • WICKED! luv it! perfect ending to an amazing AND brutal day, Frank! Thanks. Broke my toes dancing in sparkly heels/heals to R&B, man, remind'n myself how to HAVE FUN in the middle of all my Freed'm-Fight'n Jizz!

  • At 3:46 does he say "get fucked"?

  • "vandals took the handles" comes at the end

  • still in great form, thanks for posting.

  • Mitch sounds great and this is overall a fine performance, but the band sounds like the band that did the theme song for the TV show 'Saved By The Bell.' Talented musicians, but playing the riffs and fills we've all heard thousands of times at the local clubs.

  • @Stoplightcity I don't know what planet you're living on, but it sure ain't Earth. Your planet has bar bands as good as this one? Lucky you.

  • Mitch still rocks but I wish he'd taken better care of his incredible voice from the Detroit Wheels days.

  • its look out kid!! not look out child...

  • On second thought, the chorus for the song is ding, dang, dong, probably pretty funny to five years olds.

  • I was taught that song at five, but I thought it was because I lived in bi-lingual (French-English) Ottawa, Canada. Mitch is from Detroit, and his audience is German. but they all learned the same really dumb stupid song. Can anyone say, "What an idiotic education system."?

Ya, teach everyone to sing This Song.

  • The guitarplayer with the les paul is jeff beck

  • Do you know who is playing piano and harmonica?

  • The band backing Mitch is called "Engerling" from East Germany, guitar player who looks like Jeff is from Detroit, Gillespie somethin'

  • @Detroit1967 He's Bobby gillespie..one of Detroits finest!

  • That guy is 20 years younger than Jeff Beck, looks like him though.

  • Wow. It gets better every time I listen to it. What an awesome performance. Thanks for posting it. Got anymore from that concert?

  • snape is good at guitar

  • please somebody knows the name of the guitar player???

  • the name of both...please:)

  • Hi,

that clip is from the Europa Tour 2004 together with Engerling. A blues band from East Berlin Germany. The blonde guitar player is Heiner Witte, the blackone should be Michael Linke a guest player also from Berlin, but I'm not sure. The bandleader is Wolfram Bodag vocal, keyboard and harp.

    Greetings from Dresden, Germany

  • His name is Robert Gillespie, Guitarist for Mitch and the Detroit Wheels since the early 80´s. Sometimes he joines Engerling for the european MR shows. Greetings Matt

  • hey.. the guitar player with all the black is robert gillespie, the longest member of mitch ryder's band. i take lessons from him and am one of his best students.

  • Thanks for the info. You're lucky to have such a great performer as a Teacher.

  • @bjbred96 --He also plays in POWERTRANE with Scott Morgan--Look out Scott, you're doin' it again...

  • Cool he's still got it.

I do this song as hip-hop...it works 20 years before hip-hop

  • nice try

  • Yessss!!! I saw him a few years ago live in concert. Hope he will be on tour in europe and then maybe in austria for the next time. It´s only Rock 'n Roll but I like it ... :-)

  • i don't like this song. freezin in hell is much better!

i saw him yesterday night in hamburg and he played the doors title "soul kitchen" that was one of the best songs i ever heared!!!

  • jonasPausH! I saw Mitch play in Detroit's Cass Corridor in 77-78 and he did the greatest Soul Kitchen I ever heard too! He was in a trance for half of it, rolling out poetry like Patti Smith. Glad you had the same experience, all these years later!!

  • So amazing person... I love this song...

  • bob dylan is smiling

  • Mitch Ryder WAS so amazing, this is pretty sad.

  • that's not Blues.

    that's just rock.

  • WOW! Never knew this existed. Man, you can hear 10,000 gigs in that voice.

  • top stuff, amazing vocal, swing swing swing, who plays ?

  • Mitch Ryder is the main vocal and the band is called Engerling. This concert is available on DVD (Mitch Ryder at Rockpalast). On this DVD you will also find a concert played in 1979 (but not with Engerling).
