@ITSxSUPERxCOG Just remember that this was the Beta, and Epic turned off the servers occasionally to work on them and figure out which matches to host on which servers. During the downtime there was often host migration and significant lag, though nowhere near as bad as your average Gears 2 match. Host advantage was fairly negligible during all of this, but it was still there when we had to play P2P.

You might have been doing this when the servers were down. Either way, your Retro Lancer downed that Anya when it only hit her maybe three times - those last two bullets hit a good three feet behind her.
@WisdomThumbs if you knew shit about how bad consoles/non-dedicated servers are, you would understand that thats how ALL shooters on consoles work. the hitboxes are actually behind the actual player model, i mean just look at how bad killcams are on call of duty blackops..

PC has finer control over aiming weapons, but the console is far cheaper, more convenient, and just as well equipped. The players themselves are no more or less skilled. PC cod4 players will have trouble on 360, and vice versa. Leave the elitist shit at the door, please. My 200 hours experience WOULD compare, but we'll never know, because I'm not spending that money.
@Cytrome I'm not even console elitist. Also, when exactly did I say that I thought any specific game was more competitive? If anything, I made the exact opposite case - no matter which platform (PC or console) the players are going to be roughly the same on average.
But yeah, Unreal and Quake would obviously have a higher skill curve. The only people that still have access to those games are old pros that kept them out of love and only improved over the course of years.

@Cytrome There are a lot of factors involved when comparing PC and Consoles. First one is controller vs Mouse and Keyboard, MK is better in a way of aiming since you use your whole hand to move the cross-hairs with the mouse while Controller you use the thumbs. Then Dedicated servers? you can host your server on COD4 in which means you have host. Or you can rent a server close to you for better connection, so you have an advantage.
@Cytrome Also i have played both COD4 on PC and Consoles and honestly the level of players are equal, it really depends weather you play against clans or just randoms. So you cannot say PC is better then Consoles in skills, since everyone has different skills.
@Kaos20 This I would have to disagree with. I moved to consoles a year or so a go from PC. I went from being an average gamer on PC to a 'skilled' gamer on 360. The most serious gaming and IMO most skillful (Hands down) gaming is done on the PC.
@TYTRALOCITY The main skill you get from PC is been able to adopt the connection of the game, since in PC gaming PING is a major factor on gameplay. Once you are used to going from high ping to low ping with the same game performance then xbox gameplay will become easier. But you will not be more skillful. I used to play Halo 2 Vista on PC with my controller and i owned all MKers, and they bitched about me using a controller.

it could be lag, they didnt work as a team eg. they didnt rush him.
there's a lot more things you have to take into account.

@ITSxSUPERxCOG Just remember that this was the Beta, and Epic turned off the servers occasionally to work on them and figure out which matches to host on which servers. During the downtime there was often host migration and significant lag, though nowhere near as bad as your average Gears 2 match. Host advantage was fairly negligible during all of this, but it was still there when we had to play P2P.

That one Thrashball Cole shot you point blank with his shotgun, from behind. That alone should have killed you.
And a couple of your sniper headshots... didn't actually hit anybody.
You might have been doing this when the servers were down. Either way, your Retro Lancer downed that Anya when it only hit her maybe three times - those last two bullets hit a good three feet behind her.

@WisdomThumbs if you knew shit about how bad consoles/non-dedicated servers are, you would understand that thats how ALL shooters on consoles work. the hitboxes are actually behind the actual player model, i mean just look at how bad killcams are on call of duty blackops..

The hitboxes are supposed to be inside the player - they only become separate if bad lag is involved. And I know lag - my internet is worth than 90% of the US says the Speedtest results.
Killcams, meanwhile, have no relation to what actually happened.

@WisdomThumbs every game has somewhat bad lag on consoles, since you are running of someones internet connection you are playing with. you should go play rainbow 6 vegas 2 and play against someone who hosts the game, they will kick your ass with just a pistol lol. call of duty blackops has done something to make it look like its not so bad, but it really is.

@Cytrome Cool geschichte, bro. But since my internet is worse than 90% of the US (go Texas), I have an excuse for all the times when I randomly start humping walls and shooting at thin air.
Anyway, I used to play on PC before I realized I was tired of having to upgrade my system every few years to keep up with the games I couldn't run anyway. I don't give a shit what I'm playing on so long as the games are good - and having 120k kills counts for jack shit. Just takes time, not skill.

@WisdomThumbs yes it does it counts for experience and proficiency. And most people who dedicate themselves that long have pretty high-end stats. If you think otherwise go play cod4 on pc and see if your 200 hours experience on the console version can compare.

@Cytrome So what, you're a PC elitist now? There's really no difference between PC cod4 and console cod4, except for the controls. PC has finer control over aiming weapons, but the console is far cheaper, more convenient, and just as well equipped. The players themselves are no more or less skilled. PC cod4 players will have trouble on 360, and vice versa. Leave the elitist shit at the door, please. My 200 hours experience WOULD compare, but we'll never know, because I'm not spending that money.

But the fact of the matter is, is that pc is a little more advanced and games like unreal, quake have a higher skill curve. It's just that simple.
And yes there's good players on every platform. But don't act cocky and think your game is the most competitive because you're WRONG.
And I'm not PC-elitist I'm just Anti console-Elitist.

@Cytrome I'm not even console elitist. Also, when exactly did I say that I thought any specific game was more competitive? If anything, I made the exact opposite case - no matter which platform (PC or console) the players are going to be roughly the same on average.
But yeah, Unreal and Quake would obviously have a higher skill curve. The only people that still have access to those games are old pros that kept them out of love and only improved over the course of years.

@Cytrome There are a lot of factors involved when comparing PC and Consoles. First one is controller vs Mouse and Keyboard, MK is better in a way of aiming since you use your whole hand to move the cross-hairs with the mouse while Controller you use the thumbs. Then Dedicated servers? you can host your server on COD4 in which means you have host. Or you can rent a server close to you for better connection, so you have an advantage.

@Kaos20 This I would have to disagree with. I moved to consoles a year or so a go from PC. I went from being an average gamer on PC to a 'skilled' gamer on 360. The most serious gaming and IMO most skillful (Hands down) gaming is done on the PC.

@TYTRALOCITY The main skill you get from PC is been able to adopt the connection of the game, since in PC gaming PING is a major factor on gameplay. Once you are used to going from high ping to low ping with the same game performance then xbox gameplay will become easier. But you will not be more skillful. I used to play Halo 2 Vista on PC with my controller and i owned all MKers, and they bitched about me using a controller.
