Compare this to the intro of "Doomsday for the Deciever" by Flotsam and Jetsam... coincidence? I think not lol.
both bands are awesome though, and I think F&J did it as a homage if anything (seeing as how they did some Crue-style stop/start bits in a few of their songs)
also the intro is somewhat similiar to the day that never comes by metallica. jason newsted was in flotsam and jetsam and metallica! coincidence? holy shit
I know this came out before the Flotsam & Jetsam song, that's what I said before. It just seems too similar to be a full-on coincidence, so it wouldn't surprise me if F&J borrowed from the Crue. Just look at pics of them from the early days, they were a thrash band but seemed like they didn't mind hair metal too much
Back in the day I would listen to this track over, and over, and over again before I would move on to "Danger" which is another one of my personal favorite tracks. Thanks for posting.
@sabrewolfsbane tell all them teen aged heavy metal red necks in the south that, that formed wannabe satanic killer cults over what they listened too. lol. nothing else inspired them. idiots.
Well, if you wanna know the truth, this is just an instrumental by Mick Mars. He even came up with the phrase "God bless the children of the beast." soo, I don't know why you guys are talking about Nikki Sixx here, but this is ALL Mick Mars. and i think its AMAZING!
At the time of Shout At The Devil, Nikki Sixx, the bassist and main song writer for Mötley Crüe was really into all that satanic shit. he painted pentagrams (Satanic symbol) all over his walls, which explains some of the articles of clothing they wore at the time of this album (Circle with a star in it is the satanic sybmol). the album was originaly ment to be called Shout With The Devil but they had to change it.
well this is not satanic mick mars came up with it as an instrumental to lead of to there cover of helter skelter and nikki refered to him self and the band as children of the beast and there fans
This song Is taken from the album "Shout at the Devil", which was released in 1983, I find It hard to belive that It would be a rip-off of "Fade to Black" since "Ride the lightning" came out In 1984. But both songs are awesome and so are both of the bands so cheers.
@WHISKEYnTEARS I'm a huge metallica fan, they're my favourite band but I agree with you 100%. Anyone who says that has got to get their facts straight dude
@Stratonini There's a little of The Eagles 'Hotel California' in there too. Check out the intro to Flotsam And Jetsams Doomsday For The Deciever, it has the same feel as this song.
it doesn't really matter, priest came up with the whole concept, anyway. or if not, zeppelin or sabbath or purple... i guess the point is that it doesnt matter what you do, someone came up with it beforehand
man, this is a nice song by the Crue... the person who disliked it must be fucking retarded!
