  • Hi Doctor Clark. how can I relieve the back itching. I was diagnosed with shingles 12 months ago,and took the Famciclovir tabs. I also have an uncomforable feeling at the top of the ribs, which was the original site of the rash(Now gone)I had carpal tunnel surgery recently which has possibly ignited the stress. Which natural methods would you recommend for me. I am 70 years. Not keen to revert back to quick fix medication if I can take a natural approach thanks

  • Mountain Laurel is Cure for Shingles. Please Google it.

  • if you had chickenpox as a child are you immuned to shingles

  • @Becs414

No. Shingles are caused by the chickenpox virus you had as a child. You can only get them if you've once had chickenpox.

  • I'm 14 and have them they hurt soo bad :(

  • @booggey1 im 15 and I have had shingles on my stomach since April. Do you know any way of making them go away?

  • I disagree with the last statement stated "Antiviral drugs do nothing for treating post-herpetic neuralgia.". It has been my experience that Antiviral drugs keep the pain from increasing in post-herpetic neuralgia. I believe this because I suffer long term with this...however, what is bad, is getting a doctor to believe me, versus his books~!

  • I recognized the first out break on my husband and sent him to the Clinic right away.Doctor said it was wonderful that he came in within a week of the first sign and gave him a Post Perpetic Drug to take that would minimize the pain if it returned. The outbreak went no further.
