This is tough to watch because it was around 1997 that I really started following the Reds and indeed 2000- 2009 were some very very rough years. But it makes me appreciate more how Castillini and Jocketty now run the team with good managment decisions and a ton of class. The oldest team in baseball is once again something for The Queen City to be proud of.
Still, I can see the pieces coming together. It's just a question of whether the front office has the intelligence to build on those pieces and place them in the proper order.
The small market budget excuse doesn't fly. Many teams with lesser budgets have found their way into the playoffs over the last decade.
being a true reds fan, yhis video really makes me angry! only because it depicts Exactly what has happened to America's Franchise!!! Should have included more Rose, Larkin, Davis, and Parker......Good Job dude.....
I recently made a new edition to this series, entitled "A New Red Dawn?", which offers a tentatively more encouraging view of the Reds, given the recent changes and minor successes. Unfortunately, I moved to an area where I can only get dial-up, so I'll have to wait until I can access high-speed to upload it. (I'm not waiting 3 hours to upload a file that is subject to cut off in the middle of the process!)
Personally, I think Bronson needs to stay away from music until he retires. Did anyone notice that he was awesome until he picked up that guitar? STAY AWAY FROM MUSIC BRONSON!!!
The Boston Red Sox are my favorite team in the American League, but the Reds are my favorite team in the National League. The Reds need to rebuild the Big Red Machine.
They are now interested in acquring 40-year-old journeyman Kenny Lofton. [sarcasm]I'm sure he is the missing piece they need to make it to the World Series.[/sarcasm]
I enjoyed the videos... and the signing of cordero helps our bullpen... we do need a true leadoff hitter and with all the outfielders we have i look for some trades in this offseason to possibly get young pitching or leadoff help..
I, too, like the acquisition of Cordero, but unless they get a couple more good starters and a LOT of middle relief help, he ain't going to have too many leads to save.
The future shows signs of hope down in the farm system...
Just got down watching all three of the parts and thought it was well done. Did I see a Rheal Cormier snuck in there? God the Paul Wilson fight. Loved the whole thing though.
Maybe the distant future, but there is no way this present incarnation is even .500 bound, let alone has a WS in the near future. First off, they need at least two more good starters and a complete overall of their bullpen. Then, the lineup could use a more consistent bat as well as a true leadoff hitter.

So much for this season, I knew that in May. Castellini has no money, that is the problem. Oh well, we will see.

The DEA says Lindner's Chiquita Brands brings in 1/3 of America's cocaine into Baltimore harbor.
Feel free to hate me.

I'm well aware of this claim. But I have no love for Lindner (in case you couldn't tell by the juxtaposition of his picture and the money).

Yeah, and they can afford some quality relief pitching if they don't re-sign one-trick pony.
Rheal Cormier does indeed rear his 17-innings in-two-seasons head.
