I will go with the system you mentioned, and while I disagree with cutting out games because you did the prequel or something like that, I agree with the new system in general because:
1: After doing footage for the new ones, you are free to do requested games.
2: NFS Shift FTW, not that I have played it, and with all the games above the currents being played first, it would take a looooongggggg time to get to it.

You could make weekends or certain days what ever you want to be the day or days that new games will be uploaded on the others you can do things the same way you are now, unless of course you want to change the way you do your LP request list.
Yeah I would like to see some new games. I really dont have enough money to buy them all so i would just like to see different games to see whats good or not. I also get bored of some games after a while. So yeah just do more new games if possible.
I think you should put some more attention towards newer games, because that'll bring more people into your channel because they want to see LP's of new games and since you update frequently it will keep them happy for a long time
I would like it if you did something like an online series or something...For example: You, Sidrawing and 2 other people play L4D2 and you play thru the campaigns.After that you might want to try playing versus so you can be the one that torments the survivors xD if you are planning to do something like tha PLS RECORD IT!!! xD I would love to see you and Sidrawing kick ass at L4D2
From a purely economical standpoint, I'd suggest you put more priority on 'new game'-footage. Refreshing footage keeps the current 'clients' interested, lures in new clients (because new games usually get more attention close to release), brings another element to the LP collection (which enlarges the amount of 'subscriber bait' if you catch my drift) and if done consistently, will, over time, seriously amp up the subscriber count, more than 'more of the same footage' would do.
Also i have no idea how you can combine it with your walkthrough list. Or even if what i said was reasonable but it's an idea that might help or it might not. Anyway you can't blame me for trying.
here is what i think. You should get rid of your "currents" and put locked. but you should limit your locked games to the top 3. Then you should do a new game and an old requested games in turn. so that every other game is a new game. that means you can have more newer game. also I would imagine that new games get more requests when you first release their videos. but since the top 3 requests are locked it has a chance to calm down a little and you get more varied footage in.
dude you should download the chat program xfire coz it has a record thingy and its quality rocks but i think u only can use it in fullscreen games but try it out and check the freaking quality!!!!
With new games you will be inspiring and showing off a wider variety of games drawing ni fans from 1 game and showing them othe great games out there... if that makes sense so I'd vote for new games having more priority
I'd like to see more newer games played because there are a lot of new games coming out over the winter season and it would be a great chance for people to see these games and for you to enjoy them as well. some of these included left 4 dead 2, modern warfare 2, assassins creed 2, splinter cell conviction, brutal legend etc.
Why should new games have top priority? Games should take priority based on how interesting they are and how fun playing them could be. Sure you should add new games that look promising, but you should also do older games that are a lot of fun.
I would really enjoy new games for you to upload. But I still would like to see some of the old games, and hopefully, finish them before starting tons of new one in time.
i dont really care if you do newer games or older games but most people will probobly want to see games they havnt been able to play yet for reasons like they cant afford it or there only like 15 or something and its an m rated game so they cant get it well at least thats what i think

BUT. if YOU want to change, its YOUR choice. however, i would suggest doing something like mikelat said you should do. thats all i can really say at this point.
He knows you were, but he played Warhammer II or something like that anywhere from 1 to 2 weeks ago, so in a way it could have been close to ten days since he last uploaded footage of a game. Perhaps the reason why you find indifference with him is because you only "see" videos of games you find interest in, and any others do not count as uploads to you.
well. he was specifically talking to me, but i do only watch LPs i find interest in. however i will watch some LPs i dont particularly for just the commentary. they do count as uploads, i just dont watch some of them. and normally i comment on most of arms videos that i watch. hes a great LPer.
i said i usually comment on his videos, which indicates that if there had been comments from me on his LPs then i will have watched that string of videos.
Here's how I roll: I pick one game, do it until the end, then start something else, do a steady 3 videos a weekday (weekend for catching up or having a break and playing something non-lped), its just 30 minutes of playing apposed to having a junkload of raw videos in the fraps folder.
When a new game comes out that I want to LP, I simply stop all current lps, do that until the end, then continue with old games.
Works for me. I suggest you try something similar. You get steady content.
Heh, I'm well aware of your system and I do like it. You, however, don't offer much in the way of letting your viewers decide what you play. And while you play WAY better games than most of my users suggest, I still like my system where I let my viewers control the content.
I mostly choose my own games and rarely take demands mostly because I want to do games I know I'll enjoy, because if I don't then the commentary will get stale really quickly and turn into a whine fest. Bad habit of mine, its how I work around it ;)
That's what I'm suggesting however. Your users pick lets say, Hellgate london, you do that to completion, and then do something else they vote for after, and then you do new games simply because they're new.
You bring up a good point actually. Maybe for games like that have a break, or alternate games every week... I'm not sure.
I know for diablo II when I LP that for the future, I plan on doing a "100% story run" through normal, taking my time and letting people unfamiliar with the game enjoy it and then do nightmare and hell as if I were playing normally aka going through quickly. But hellgate is... yeah...
Actually the other disadvantage to the way I do it is some days I feel tired or its not the best time to LP, but I end up feeling I "should" or else nobody gets content the next day and then the commentary lacks slightly and its more like im narrating then I'm making decent commentary.
I just want to see new footage, doesn't matter whether it's new games or just new parts of old games. HOWEVER, I get the feeling that's not what you want to hear so I'm going to TRY to give you a suggestion.
I like your locking system idea. In fact, I like it a lot. I feel that the first three games at the top of your "request list" should actually be games of your choice. Until you record these games that you REALLY want to record, do not pay any attention to the requests. It'll piss people
Well games that got above both currents are already locked in position. I would just remove both currents and put in locked. In fact, now that I think of it I might remove random sideline too. I think I very possibly might be uploading MORE footage this way as I wouldn't have to wait for something to be done before I could upload. Like the save game locating trouble I had with Spider-Man.

The question is simple. Right now when a ton of people ask for more footage of a game, that get's the highest priority. So the question is, should that not be the case, should I allow in the occasional new game release, especially since in 3-months backlogged in new releases?
I say you do whatever you would rather do. If you want to get the new games and record them, do it, but also keep with the priority of higher requested games.
Well, I'm wondering why we can't have both? Keep yourself up with newer games for most of the time, and every once in a while, do maybe a single set of videos for higher requested ones as a break, and then go back to new releases.
If not, then I say just stick with newer releases for now, and then when the releases are not coming in handfuls, return to older games.

He knows you were, but he played Warhammer II or something like that anywhere from 1 to 2 weeks ago, so in a way it could have been close to ten days since he last uploaded footage of a game. Perhaps the reason why you find indifference with him is because you only "see" videos of games you find interest in, and any others do not count as uploads to you.

well. he was specifically talking to me, but i do only watch LPs i find interest in. however i will watch some LPs i dont particularly for just the commentary. they do count as uploads, i just dont watch some of them. and normally i comment on most of arms videos that i watch. hes a great LPer.

Here's how I roll: I pick one game, do it until the end, then start something else, do a steady 3 videos a weekday (weekend for catching up or having a break and playing something non-lped), its just 30 minutes of playing apposed to having a junkload of raw videos in the fraps folder.
When a new game comes out that I want to LP, I simply stop all current lps, do that until the end, then continue with old games.
Works for me. I suggest you try something similar. You get steady content.

Heh, I'm well aware of your system and I do like it. You, however, don't offer much in the way of letting your viewers decide what you play. And while you play WAY better games than most of my users suggest, I still like my system where I let my viewers control the content.

I mostly choose my own games and rarely take demands mostly because I want to do games I know I'll enjoy, because if I don't then the commentary will get stale really quickly and turn into a whine fest. Bad habit of mine, its how I work around it ;)
That's what I'm suggesting however. Your users pick lets say, Hellgate london, you do that to completion, and then do something else they vote for after, and then you do new games simply because they're new.

You have excellently pointed to a very specific problem that exists there.
Hellgate London doesn't end.
And even if you consider a once-through, the end, it gets HIGHLY repetitive fairly quickly. Which is why I never intend to finish my LPs. O_o

You bring up a good point actually. Maybe for games like that have a break, or alternate games every week... I'm not sure.
I know for diablo II when I LP that for the future, I plan on doing a "100% story run" through normal, taking my time and letting people unfamiliar with the game enjoy it and then do nightmare and hell as if I were playing normally aka going through quickly. But hellgate is... yeah...

Actually the other disadvantage to the way I do it is some days I feel tired or its not the best time to LP, but I end up feeling I "should" or else nobody gets content the next day and then the commentary lacks slightly and its more like im narrating then I'm making decent commentary.

I just want to see new footage, doesn't matter whether it's new games or just new parts of old games. HOWEVER, I get the feeling that's not what you want to hear so I'm going to TRY to give you a suggestion.
I like your locking system idea. In fact, I like it a lot. I feel that the first three games at the top of your "request list" should actually be games of your choice. Until you record these games that you REALLY want to record, do not pay any attention to the requests. It'll piss people

Well games that got above both currents are already locked in position. I would just remove both currents and put in locked. In fact, now that I think of it I might remove random sideline too. I think I very possibly might be uploading MORE footage this way as I wouldn't have to wait for something to be done before I could upload. Like the save game locating trouble I had with Spider-Man.

I would say that if you put priority on more recent games you would probably get more subscribers(when games come out they get youtube'd alot)

I'd say Lp the ones you find interest in the most, because what's the point of doing a LP if you don't like the game at all? I think it'd make you feel like your forced to do it

I think i do now... Are you saying that you want to do the priority thing? Like if your subscribers want you to do more LP's of a game then that'd be your higher priority and if your interested in doing it then it'd be 'locked'? I might've went in the wrong direction, but I'd like you to do that, since I kinda do that?

The question is simple. Right now when a ton of people ask for more footage of a game, that get's the highest priority. So the question is, should that not be the case, should I allow in the occasional new game release, especially since in 3-months backlogged in new releases?

I say you do whatever you would rather do. If you want to get the new games and record them, do it, but also keep with the priority of higher requested games.

You can't have both. Keep requested games with maximum priority or allow a few more new game releases in from time to time.

Well, I'm wondering why we can't have both? Keep yourself up with newer games for most of the time, and every once in a while, do maybe a single set of videos for higher requested ones as a break, and then go back to new releases.
If not, then I say just stick with newer releases for now, and then when the releases are not coming in handfuls, return to older games.
