Hey, i have a small question... I know that if you lose all your hp in this stage, a girl (i dont recognize her, sorry) comes by and give you some kind of power making you invencible. Ok, good.

But if you beat dracula in this stage WITHOUT having to summon her, is there any difference in the rest of the game? Thanks in advance.

I don't know which came first, but for me, the 3D Castlevania games from the PS2 onward, are more like Devil May Cry (in gameplay). I prefer Castlevania in 2D, a lot more. Lords Of Shadow isn't Castlevania, for me, it only has the title and characters; because it's more of a God Of War and Dante's Inferno mix.

@DarkEvil87 The newest Castlevania game plays like a cross between Darksiders and God of War. It is definitely worth a play. I've enjoyed it. All that being said, by far my favorite Castlevania game is SOTN. I still have my PS1 disc.

@brameekhout Better 2D than previously available on older consoles. It was 2D by choice, because of the style of gameplay they wanted to have for this particular game I guess. But there are a couple 3D Castlevania games, with varying levels of success.

I haven't heard much of Castlevania, but I wonder... Is this like Final Fantasy? As in that it's a big franchise, but there is always different characters and stories in each new game?

There are some games where you control the same guy (like Castlevania and Castlevania II), but I know it's the case also with Final Fantasy with FFX and FFX-2 for example. Where there is a difference is that the games are always part of the same long storyline that spans over centuries whereas I would say Final Fantasy games are in different universes from one another.

The first part in Symphony of the night wasn't even close to the original battle in Dracula X.

@reggiardito Actually, it is almost entirely accurate to the original PC-Engine CD version of Rondo of Blood. The only differences are the candlesticks are in different places and the hidden room has different items. Dracula X is NOT Rondo of Blood.
