  • 350z will suck a mustang gts dick. Gtr is 90 grand dumbass gts 30. i had a 04 z 6 speed and from a dig and a roll the z will suck a gts balllllls but its better at everything else. Comparing a gtr to a gt is stupied theres a big price difference a 370z is a gts price and the 370 will suck the new 5.0s dick

    the gtr has 530hp and does 0-60 in 2.9 secs....... the mustang gt or any other car from the ford line up doesn't have shit on the gtr. And quit saying you've owned a Z and know that the mustang embarasses it on the drag. I've owned 2 350z's and destroyed mustangs on top end hands down everytime. The stang has low end speed and thats it.

  • well said dude. I have an 04 Z too. I have beat mustangs, and i have had them beat me a few times too. Always a close race though of course. It all depends on the driver most of the time. My Z is over 300 pounds lighter than the mustang, which makes a HUGE difference. Mustangs have a little more torque than the Z, so they can pull hard from a dig. Both good cars, but on the track, a Z would be the best choice. Stock vs stock that is.

  • You sir, are somewhat of a moron. Stock for stock the Pony and the Z are close. It's a drivers race. In this case the Z lost and not by a lot. I hate when ricers say they can whip up on muscle all day but it's just as bad to hear an ignorant North American say that muscle always wins... If you ever raced before you know it's more about the driver and less about the mods, even fast cars will lose if they miss-shift/etc. Either way good race.

  • well said man....... from my experience with both cars, the Z is quite a bit harder to drive than the Mustang. My 04 Z has heavier clutch than my buddies Stang, and if your not use to short throws, its easy to miss second and third gear in my car. Its like a tennis racket, certain cars have a sweet spot and when you shift them right, they will threat you right. I agree with you 100%, more of a drivers skill race.

  • I love both cars. My mate has a mustang and it always draws attention, for its speed, the noise it makes and for the way it looks! (in the UK not many of em about). But even by his own admission, compared to jap and european cars. It corners like a mattress!

  • the new 07 will do good against it on freeway but a 1st, 2nd gear roll or a dig it will just fall back. Stangs get more rwhp and have more torque and have shorter gear ratio's which is the main reason for it being so dam fast

  • Mustangs don't have more rwhp than an HR Z. They both pull about 265 on the dyno. The low end torque of the mustang is what's responsible for the dig acceleration, but the Z's top end and aerodynamics are stronger, so they are actually dead even.

  • You do know that 350zs and new GTs weigh about the same right? Both around 3500lbs. Now factor in that 320 lb ft of torque compared to the Z's 265 or whatever. What do you get???

  • As it stands, current-year Zees and Stang GTs get similar quarter-mile times. The Stang's pull is at the low-to-mid rev-range, and the Z is mid-to-high. What usually happens when both cars are driven correctly, is the Stang shoots ahead, and the Z slowly turns the pull into a drag, and then starts pulling back. The Stang responds better to bolt-ons though, so it's usually cheaper to mod a Mustang per-horsepower. Once you get into FI territory though, it's anyone's game.

    I'm 100% sure a GT500 would leave an 07 Z in the dust, and they sticker $42K. So will the 03-04 SVT cobras (390hp), which stickered for $38k. Top end power in a GT500 is so far superior to the 07 Z it's not even close. Therefore, on an interstate where top end power is the only factor, the GT500 destroys the 07 350Z. The 07 Z and the Mustang GT Manual are very comparable in acceleration tests. Numbers are the nearly identical. It would be purely up to the driver's abilities.

  • so i was off my $8k. but still, an '07 Z can be gotten now for $25k. put $17k into it when greddy releases a turbo kit (matching the price of the gt500), and it'll make a gt500 look like the little pony it is.

  • Please. If you want to play that game, a GT500 can swap supercharger pulleys, full exhaust, retune and have 750HP for and extra $3.5K. A $45k GT500, still under th $50k. I'll let the Z have that extra $3.5K as well and see if it can come up with the extra 300 HP.

    306 HP vs the mustangs 300? Mustang has way more torque to compensate it's slight weight difference. It's very comparable. the Z isn't going to leave a GT in the dust. It will be very close and either car could win.

  • dude, the greddy twin turbo kit is guaranteed for 700+hp on the stock block with different connecting rods. stock new '08 Z=$29K +$10k for turbo kit= less money than that gas pig gt500. apples vs oranges. the Z is a true sports car. the gt500 is a straight line noisemaker for guys who have to compensate for something.

  • You are backing out of your original statement. You originally said that the 07+ 350Z's will beat anything made by Ford under less than 50K on the interstate(straightline performance). I proved you dead wrong, and now you wan't to throw in $15K in mods so it can win? Your original statement was wrong, that's all I said. Trying to add mods to the price to even it out is making your orignal argument obsolete. You don't have to upgrade the engine intenals for a GT500 to handle 800+ HP.
